Up until a couple a couple of years ago, I would've said that Israel was indeed the good guy. However, they've been using many tactics recently that I can't approve of. I think Sharone should be exiled from the damn country. If Israel sinks to the level of the terrorists they fight, they will be destroyed. They have been able to survive only because they have maintained the higher moral ground. The second they lose that, they lose foreign sympathy, and then they're sitting ducks.

If the atrocities we're talking about were committed against the Arab nations, a people with the strength to actually throw down against Israel, it would be different.

Look at that CNN report (not that I think you bothered to read my post anyway). We're talking about Palestinian resisters there, not Arab nations. These people gather in protest mobs and throw rocks at Israeli soldiers in full riot gear. The soldiers are in no immediate danger of being harmed, yet they respond with gunfire into a crowd of civilians armed with rocks. How can you justify that?

The Israelis haven't been the good guys since World War II, before the formation of their country. Have you ever read about the tactics they used to force the British out of the land they currently occupy as a nation? They used kidnapping, death squads, all the same sort of tactics you see being used by Muslim extremist groups today, and condemned by civil nations. Those people wrote the book on guerilla warfare and terrorist actions.

I have not read about these tactics. Perhaps you could quote your source for this information? And don't say the Baghdad Sun.

The Night Trilogy, by Elie Wiesel. He's a concentration camp survivor. The book contains his story and two others. One of them is written by a man who was recruited in Paris by the militant group attempting to drive the English out of what became Israel. In the book they've kidnapped an English officer and threaten to kill him some of their brethren are hung at dawn for terrorist actions against the British. The guy who wrote the tale was the trigger man.

The British took Palestine from the Turks in WWI.

Remember that the British did promise the land to the Jews in the 1917 Balfour declaration. When the war was over, the British forgot all about their deal. After WWII, the British were actually trying to keep Jews from migrating to Palestine. Thus we see the setting for that conflict.

So basically what your saying is that because of a broken agreement, it was perfectly acceptable for the Jews to use guerilla tactics and terrorist actions to force the British government, American allies at the time mind you, to capitulate to their demands?

Just because you've never heard of something before, that doesn't mean it's untrue. I suggest reading the Night Trilogy. It's a powerful book, written in the view of three different concentration camp survivors. If you're not sure it's correct, maybe the firsthand account of a Jewish man who, at the age of 18, had to put a gun to the head of a man he didn't even know and pull the trigger, will give you some insight on what went on.

Now we have an Israeli state that will use a tank to level an entire apartment building to kill one sniper. Yeah, they're great people all right...

Again, the British got themselves into a little war when they tried to renege on their earlier agreement. That they tried to stop jewish immigration to Palestine right after the holocaust was just over the top.

As far as the snipers nest in the apartment building mentioned, the Israelis should fight back when attacked.
Another thing about your statement of that apartment building....You yourself made it very clear that Palestinian gunmen use their own women and children as human shields when they fight.

Actually, I can't stand either Isreal or Palestine. But the land was given to them by Great Britain. And sure, the Night triology is well done (I've read excripts from it), but no matter what, it is biased. But Isreal and Palestine both take too much advantage of their positions.

Yes, there were. Many of whom were Jews. Yet that always gets ignored when the Palestinians talk about pushing Israel into the sea.


Muslims got 3/4 of Palestine, Jews got 1/4. The Muslims aren't in any position to be complaining.
