Im just curious as to how people feel about being alone... in whatever sense of the word you want to take it.
.. I am not sure how I feel on this.. because my greatest fear throughout life has always been the fear of being alone. Yet.. as lonely as I am... sometimes it brings a strange comfort.. almost like a beautiful sadness... that breaks your heart... yet... calms the soul. Im not quite sure how I feel sometimes.. but I know I have plenty of friends... in fact.. a lot more than i ever thought I would. yet... still I feel alone... and its not because I do not realize my friends are there... its actually because I have no one to share everything with.... so how the hell do you be happy being single when all you feel is alone?...
.. hmm.. Im confusing myself.. so I think I'll let you guys and girls take over..

Alone....hmmm..I like being alone. I've always done things on my own. I can go to the theatre alone, dine alone. I went to L.A by myself and lived there a year, I wasn't alone for long though, ended up getting married in Vegas. If I didn't have the responsibilities I do I could happily go off for a year on a solo journey. I don't know, I think I can be more myself alone. I like watching people from the outside, I think sometimes I understand them more that way. Actions are so much more honest then words.

I know what you mean... I like watching the world as if it was some strange movie.... but sometimes... it just hurts too much to know that im outside of it all... I have always been a outcast persey... but... I dont know. I cant stand feeling like everyones life is more important than mine.

it sux being alone......but it is inevitable......for instance, look at us here, chatting in a forum....that has its own degree of loneliness....in fact, the oddles of time we waste on the internet is time we could be using persuing an actual personal relationship with someone........anyway, yeah being alone sux.....i haven't dated someone in lie 3+ yrs, though currently working on someone, but man it sux.....lots of lonely nights, and dates with my right hand......

Arh, depends on your philosophy, see, I feel everything is uncompromisingly connected anyway. You are no less important then anyone else. We forget how powerful we are sometimes. A few words from you can effect anyone around you, for good or bad, and that creates a chain reaction.

Strangely enough.. i know exactly what you mean... being alone amungst crowds is probly the worste feeling I have ever had... and continue to have.. I hate feeling distant from everyone evan though their right next to me.... but than again... I guess it really is just a state of mind.

Yeah, but most of them are thinking exactly the same thing. Next time you make eye contact with someone in a crowd/street, hold it until their eyes drop. They're thinking the same thing.

BTW I find it an effort to make small talk too. It comes from practice. Meeting people can really suck until you know what you have in common. I just think, fuck it, be myself and anyone who is interested won't leave the table/room/bed/forum.

Ps. I hope I'm making sense, I've just come home from a night out and a bottle of red and various other aperitifs.

.. and soul... you made perfect sense... I kinda do the same thing.. I try and just let what happens happen.. and if someone is interested in knowing me.. that maybe they wont leave... but.. funny thing is.. that doesnt work to well for me... cause most the time.. men are screwd if they dont make the first move.. or atleast act on the others move.. and... im too shy at first glance to either sometimes.... I hate being timid about meeting people.. its a real pain in the ass... .and small talk is not something Im good at.. I enjoy finding out about the person... but.. beating around the bush isnt my strong point lol.
