So one law for us and another for him? Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

If I was a King that liked it when people feared and worshipped me and passed out harsh judgement, punished people just for not following me I would be a hellbound tyrant. We are insited that we should follow one like that in order not to meet the fate he would have if he was human right? Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

The Seven Deadly Sins...are not from the Bible. They're from Medieval Catholic dogma. When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more.

Well thats one point sorted. Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

Dark Messiah is correct. The so-called seven deadly sins were put together by Pope Gregory I sometime around the year 600 according to Catholic tradition.
This is why I said they have no relevance to the Truth that is the Word of God. We were given the Ten Commandments from the Lord Himself.
You are given free will to follow after Him or reject Him. Rejecting Him does, by your own choice, reward you with eternal punishment for in rejecting Him, you have rejected the only suitable sacrifice to atone for your sins.
His death on the cross was the debt paid for you and I to set us free from the penalty of sin which leads to death.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see Life, for God's wrath remains on him.
Live once, die twice. Life twice, die once.
Now for those of us who died with Christ (in the spiritual sense), we believe that we will also live with Him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over Him. The death He died, He died to sin once and for all; but the Life He lives, He lives to God.
My giving my life to the King of King and Lord of Lords was my personal choice. I and all my Brethren who have done the same will experience Life eternal.
Those who by their own personal choice choose to reject His sacrifice given to buy them back from the law of sin and death, will have freely chosen to spend eternity seperated from the never ending Love of the Holy One who gave Himself for them and shall be punished in eternal torment.
Each of us must choose. | |

and even if we did choose (and most here have) you would still preach until your throat is raw.
Not that you responded to the question at all anyway. Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

Well if you did answer it fully then you are denying that God punishes anyone and that he merely rewards the faithful and the only thing close to punishment in use is seperation from that reward.I`m sure the Bible says different. Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

Question: Why has god set up a set of laws for people to obey that he doesn;t seem to obey himself?
Answer: People choose to obey god's laws, or they don't, if they do, they are saved, if they do not, they burn in hell.

The law was given to show mankind that he cannot keep the law.
No man can.
Except one.
And He did.
His name is Jesus. He kept the law and was perfect in all His ways.
His death on the cross became the suitable sacrifice to cleanse us all of our sins and in doing so redeemed us from the power of sin and death. Death being the penalty for sin.
No one goes to eternal damnation because they did not keep the law. If that were the case no man could be saved, since all men are sinners and are incapable of keeping the law.
But because some men willingly reject the only means of salvation--the free gift of eternal life which was bought for us by Christ on the cross and offered for us to freely except or reject-- those men are condemned. This is because they have rejected the perfect and only suitable sacrifice in which to cover and atone for their sins.
Praise God for the Blood of the Lamb which takes away the sins of the world and has the power to deliver us from the evil one.

Hell doesn't exist. When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more.

Christ might have claimed to be the King of the Jews, but he never claimed he was the Son of God. He was just a man. Therefore, i believe you worship a lie. I have no fear of your idea of hell, for it is as real to me as heaven, or the land of the unicorns.

That is a journey you must decide to buy a ticket for. The map was laid before you and directions given. As of yet, you haven't even shown a proclivity of even being able to sit in the bus.
What part of the twice answered question do you not understand Red? I am asking in all sincerity.

I understand all of it, understand it enough to know you pretty much dodged answering twice.
The question was does God live up to the standards he sets for his children? Or better yet why is he allowed to not live up to those standards since I will say he doesnt.Since we would be punished if we acted like he has done in the past. Not where does the laws come from, why the laws are here, if people have a choice on the laws or not. Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

Christianity is based on nothing but the Life, death and ressurection of Jesus Christ and the free gift of eternal Life He offers to anyone who dare believe.
It is your books of tall tales you choose to believe that tell you of your fanciful older religions and myths. They have no Truth in regards to the fact of Jesus being the Son of God.
Let us face this also Vallisk:
John 10: 36-38
"What about the one whom the Father set apart as His very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse Me of blasphemy because I said, 'I AM GOD'S SON'? Do not believe Me unless I do what my Father does. But if I do it, even though you do not believe Me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father."
It is your choice to have no fear of hell Vallisk. I would encourage you rather to have fear of the One Who has to power to cast you into Hell.
That also is your choice.

Are you asking if God's standards are different for us today than they were during His Theocratic reign over the Government of Israel during that specific period of man's history?

No I`m not although since thats a part of his imapct that it has a little bit to do with it.
So he keeps to the ten commandments then? He hasnt ordered anyone to be killed by say his followers or caused a big flood? Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.
