Pretty fair description of some persons' relationship to porno.

I'm not saying that pornography may not be a symptom of sexual boredom/inhibition/perversion. As with cases of chemical drug addictions, it can often be both the symptom of and gratification for something deeper.
Only in this sense, the "drug" is not ingested through the flesh. I should rephrase a statement in my last post. It is a drug for the soul, but ingested by means of the perception, and absorbed through the mind.

Appetite for pornography may be the result of someone having a "hole" in their self, which they seek to fill through pornographic material (due to damage from previous sexual abuses, etc, done to them). The appetite also may be just sexual preference, without being the result of any past abuse/violation (this kind of appetite used to be more rare, but in the environment of modern media culture, is becoming common).
It may also be the simple case of a neutral mind being exposed to the "stimulant", and once the "stimulus" is experienced the subject may develop an addiction to it of sorts, unable or unwilling to go without the experience from the "stimulus", to satisfy the developed addiction/compulsive desire.

Though it is more like an addiction to sugar or something less powerful, then to most chemical drugs, in the sense that there is no withdrawal if the subject is prevented from ingestion of the "drug" for a length of time. But to a degree unlike even most conventional "drugs", simple extended therapy or treatment may not be fully effective in treating actual addictions to pornography, as even complete permanent self-imposed separation from the "stimulus" may not result in success. It can exist on indefinately in the mind.

I do think pornography is a bad thing, to be honest, I want to be clear on that. ..but does anyone really care about this swill? I could post volumes. I need to go get something to eat, I'll probably post more when I get back..

A majority of Serial Criminals (rapists/child molesters/serial killers.. for ease of reference) that I've read about came from severely physical, emotional, or sexually abusive backgrounds. Atrocities done to them, by trusted members of the family, relatives, etc etc.. Unthinkable things in some cases, it is a wonder they hadn't committed suicide. Some of those that don't become so destroyed psychologically, and twisted, that conscience and morality becomes something foreign to them. Most of the ones I've read up on became as they are because of abominations done to them as children, not from strict moral limits placed upon them by parents... but I'd like to see some info on that, if you would, Vallisk.

And on porn, in a number of cases there has already been damage done to the psyche/"inner self?" of the victim-turned-sexual predator, a gaping hole, which the victim is attempting to fill by immersing themselves into pornography. It provides fulfillment, somehow, and helps the torn to cope, by examing the stark (literally) sexuality of others. Why is not yet fully understood, the scars of the soul.

It isn't exactly hidden knowledge, the incidents of newfound attraction to pornography by victims after their own experience of sexual violation. Some remain at the level of attempting to heal and cope, and finding comparisons to their own selves in the pornography. Others use it as a way to satisfy new desires for kinds of sexual fulfillment or gratification that have arisen after their own violation. A few others develop an obsession with porn, and sex, developing satyriasis and nymphomania (morbid obsession with sex, sexuality, extreme promiscuity, etc). And a very few others go beyond that, and turn into sexual monsters themselves, doing to other innocents exactly what they had known as a child, years ago, themselves.

Some know something is horribly wrong, but are apparently unable to control the monster within. Others are in the mental state that they think they truly do "love" those they rape, and by the rape they are "expressing" that love....

The whole damned thing is a spiral of tragedy, I have known people that have experienced some of it. It is the scarring of the soul.

And not to say that the information in my two previous posts applys to all who are into pornography, hell no.. I am attempting to profile the various causes of attraction to pornography, whether orginally innocent in of themselves (curiousity, etc) or not.
But the root of having been violated, and then later developing an inner connection with porno, is a chronology all too common.

well in my opinion I am proof that this is all speculation and congecture...I am not addicted to porn, aside from the hentai I get in my e-mail I honestly haven't watched, played or checked into any porn lately...but when I do I enjoy it and a very healthy relationship with my husband...

Funny since I have that same definition in a another window right now with the word chemical placed before substance.
The incidents of it becoming addictive are small compared to the times when it is not much like cleaning with someone with a obessive compulsive disorder.The thing or act in itself is not at fault.
I would argue that the sexual appetite for pornography is and always has been the main cause of interest and that even before it was created this appetite would still exist on some scale.In sort that the sexuality that is seen today is merely more open than the ones in the past, perversion or dirversion from the accepted norm of sexual interest still existed it just is not as hidden and frowned upon as it once was.

I have been told that girls are different in one aspect. They seem to be "more" mental than visual.
Not that they don't like the visual part.
This is one reason why women like to talk more than guys.
They can visualize things better also.
