Why not just stick with what works, instead of trying to change everything because you hate the profit motive?
Because conditions have changed signifigantly, most notably the population growth.

You might have more of a chance changing it, though.

So now it will work, and before it wouldn't?

That's the definition of a Liberal, one, who when faced with failure, will redouble his efforts in the wrong direction.

I can't force any change, all I can do is try to enlighten. People have to change themselves.

...and if I thought that was less likely than changing a physical law, then I never would have changed myself.

But you are not enlightening anyone. You are proposing ridiculous ideas that are totally devoid of reality, and have zero chance of ever working.

It would be far better for you to learn how the world works, so that you could at least try to influence it in some positive way, instead of your misguided attempts at changing it, which will only make things far worse.

Communism. Taking the profit out of business, and trying to tell others what is best for themsleves, aka: central planning.

What would you say is a positive influence?

All governments do that to a degree.

Capitalism is the most positive influence there has ever been on mankind. You need to learn to understand it, instead of swallowing the leftist pap.

Yes, that's exactly what has happened, and always will happen. Technologies that capitalism creates will solve our energy problems, just as they always have.

How did technology solve our energy problems in the 1800s? With coal and the steam engine. The 1900s? With gasoline and the internal combustion engine, and nuclear power and electricity.

Use your imagination. Hydrogen? Fusion reactors?

If you are speaking of the income tax, then yes. The more communist tendancies, the more harmful they are.

It's certainly not something to aspire to, when capitalism has proven so succcessful.

Then you haven't solved the problem, you just spread it to different areas.

Nonsense. Power generation today is infinitely cleaner than 150 years ago. Nothing was "spread" anywhere else.

I don't have a problem. I get all the power I want from the electric company.
