Wired magazine reported in March that two German designers have invented a computer game with hand sensors allowing the administration of shocks and burns to opponents, with the winner being the player who can stand it longer. Painstation (not affiliated with Sony) is based on the old game Pong, and if a player misses the ball, it will hit randomly arranged Pain Inflictor Symbols (heat, jolts, shocks of varying degrees). The game ends when one player lifts his hand off the Pain Endurance Unit. [Wired News]

There is a low-tech version of this game. 2 actually, they are called "Bloody knuckles" and "Quarters."

Hope it makes it into mainstream production.Sounds like something to make games closer to a sport heh.

What's Quarters? Bloody Knuckles, I know.

I think quarters is when you place your knuckles on a flat tabletop and someone slides a quarter into them very fast, this game is risky though because you knuckles have a tendency to open up alot. We used Dimes in place of quarters to make the game go faster, mainly because with dimes you get a sharper cut because its got a much smaller thickness.

I also played a similar one in high school once; "slappers" or something. One person holds out their two palms, the other slaps them as hard as they can, respond, respond, loser quits first.

Of course, I always thought Fight Club had it right .

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Mercy. My sister and everyone always wanted to play with me, but I whined and cried and said that I didn't want to.

For those who don't know, Mercy is just where you get a grip on each other's hands and squeeze and squeeze and violate each other until someone cries out for mercy.

I used to play that, sometimes called uncle instead.

When I was little, I though "Uncle I surrender" was "Uncle Ice a render," and was always confused.

Likewise, "So sue me," I thought was "Sosume," some weird oriental word.

Actually with Quarters you try to stop a spinning quarter without it falling over, if you fail you take a hit.
