| Cloning problems of the past or solutions for the future? -

Well we all heard about the recent events that concern cloning...
The latest interesting piece of information on the subject is that the first human clone is due to be completed by the end of 2002... pretty soon...
Seems like everyone has to have a fear stick up their asses about the entire subject... "No it's playing God..." "No, it's immoral"... and to this I have to say.. "So?".....
To those that fear that we'll make the 'perfect human' and leave the rest of the (ever so) flaud humanity to rot are just pathetic... too concerned about their own imperfections to realize that the last great chance we have to survive rests in the hands of genetic manipulation....
I was curious to hear your thoughts on the matter... For Gamez, Muzik, Cloning, Worst Ways to Die and other questionable content please visit To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Time will tell...
Heaven or Hell? I want to live in a world of peace
Without conflict, like the one I’ve seen in my dreams.
I just can’t keep it inside
I’ve gotta say what I wanna say
Your face doesn’t show your fighting pose.

Any fears of creating a "perfect" being can be laid to rest, at least for a the foreseeable future. Cloning is the identical coping of genetic material, because no human being is perfect in all ways, especially genetically, they will not be able to clone a perfect being.
Now, as for cloning in general, I applaud it. It is not "ungodly". We were not given wings, and yet we fly. We bend invisible waves to commentate with people across the globe. We use microwaves to heat our food. We have created Dr. Pepper. None of these are ungodly, they are just tools, as is cloning.
Any tool can be used for good or for evil. Man is superior to the stars if he lives in the power of superior wisdom. Such a person, being master over heaven and earth by means of will, is a magus. And magic is not sorcery, but supreme will.

Havent seen you for while duchess.
I`ve never see anything wrong in "playing god" as long as they make sure they have full control over the project. Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

Dr. Pepper IS ungodly...
...And it IS being used for evil...
..As for cloning... I'm all for breaking the barrier.....
heres an interesting set of statements about the issue... and about the glow in the dark bunny they created named 'Alba' which proves that cloning can be used for more then just simply copying DNA... it can also be spliced.... I can have wings... http://www.smokingninja.com/clone.html
Also.. if God didn't want us to play God he wouldn't have 'made us in his own immage'... For Gamez, Muzik, Cloning, Worst Ways to Die and other questionable content please visit To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

like duchy said, there were some threads that are long gone that dealt with this, so i'll just repost what i said there:
in a technological society that has breached the taboo act of cloning, why don't we embrace the practice? clones would be a perfect man made test subject for a multitude of chronic diseases. we could infect the clones with HIV or cancer during any point of the life cycle, infant, adolescence or adult and test possible cures for medical research.
we haven't embraced this technology because of the notion that we would be playing "god." is that to say we are creating a soul? absolutely not, we are simply creating a copy of what already exists and in no way effecting the life path of the original. this copy was not formed naturally within a human womb and would not have any semblance of a soul. why then is our society afraid of this concept. Its not going to have a soul as ars said. Its just going to be a copy to do experiments on,and such, but for how long, will that go on, before it becomes immoral to us? it is similar to testing on animals...protest's,wars will occur. To Maxx, god must have created us in his form, to test us, and it looks to me that if you think humans were meant to play, and display god-like power's, then it comes to no suprise, as Humans are just proving they can take advantage of it, just as everyone takes advantage of evrything n this world, which leads to suffering. So basically, most who believe in this, think its "cool", it 2002,its about darn time we get futuristic things happening, to confirm what we saw in science fiction movies, while younger. Even though some of you might not think it to be immoral, does'ent mean, that other's won't,and its going to cause nothing but conflict. Its kind of foolish to think that when a person dies, that its sad, when the person is going to a better place,it is the living that should be feeling sympathy for themselves, they have to live in this world. What my message, and everything im blabbing about, comes down to, is that it will create nothing but conflict. That's all this society know's how to do.No suprise.

I am suddenly reminded of two things: First: Shadowborn's Frankenstein poem. Second: This book we had to read in the 6th grade-- the name of which eludes me at the moment. In it, the people of years past had created these jolly little artificial intelligence things . . . which then took over the world [with little resistance] & controlled all human thought, leaving everyone bereft of creativity and other good things . . . any one considered the first say, few hundred clones? firstly, science will NOT get it right the first gos. and so what will become of them? to kill them because they're failed experiments, or keep them alive? if kept alive they will no doubt be subjected to tests for their entire lifetime and who will look after them? who will love the experiments? maybe you will take the stance that they're just an experiment, and their sole purpose is for that and so for fufilling this purpose, their life is complete. that's pretty sick.
another question, who are they going to clone? has it been decided yet? who would we want more of, or better still who do we want lots of mutated versions of in a lab condemned to a lifetime of tests and monitoring?
or are we just going to sit here and think better them than me... have you seen my marbles?

there will no doubt be those dead set against cloning and so when it happens, will they feel empathy for the clone or would they try to destroy it? have you seen my marbles?

there is no real reason for cloning. Who the hell would want to have a larger life span, that is beyond me. i think the humans started this, just becuz they can.

if u get sick.. like a disease thats genetic.. they could use the knowledge of cloning to grow you a fix for your ailment..
in the future you should be able to pop a pill or something and can continue to live...
