if stalin killed millions to preserve his society, then yes, he was acting as a good leader should. whether he could have found a better way to do it is the domain of ethics, not morals.

I am not name calling at all. I simply stated my opinion of your idealistic stance. I am a staunch fundamentalist libertarian who likes to label myself as a registered Republican. I believe in the blood that created our country. You are a fascist. You would readily destroy the ideals that support our very freedoms if it meant your survival.

The Democratic society we have created is built upon the foundations of liberty and freedom. You cannot have those without moral idealism. Ethics or morals it really amounts to right and wrong. Not GOOD or BAD. But right or wrong. Sometimes the right thing can feel like the bad thing. Sending thousands of our citizens to die on far away beaches may not be a GOOD thing but it sure as hell was the right thing.
You would prefer that liberty be at the whim of survivalism. If you kill the whole you no longer have a society.
