Well holy crap. Now I know everything you should know about getting businesses approved by the City/County.

I am very lucky in that I am taking over a turn key business and as such they will not have to re-inspect my premises. I will however have to deal with the Health Department once a year.

So $70 in Utah and I am a registered business owner.

Starting your own business from scratch can be horrible. But getting your hands on a turn key is easy.

What's a turn key? Excuse my ignorance, maybe we call it something else over here.

Setting up a Blacksmith's shop must be easier.

it's a business that's already in operation, everything is set up you just take the keys, transfer titles and it's yours...if i had a hundred thousand i'd look into a video store being sold...as a turn key...it's family and christian, but it wouldn't take too long to turn it into an ultimate horror video store...

finances suck though, maybe after we get our house..i'll have something to lien against.

Then when your business fails from lack of interest, you can lose your home too!

Usually even if a business fails you can dissolve all your assets and come out even if you were smart.

A Turn-Key Business is a business that is sold lock/stock/barrel entire. It must be established as well. On a certain date one owner leaves and the other takes over ownership. Usually the four agencies have already inspected the property and will notify the city./county that this is true and your business license will be issued.

If you have to coordinate the inspections it gets more time consuming.

Oh right got it. I don't know what they call it here actually. Personally, my family has owned many businesses, but we can't help but change the shop when we get it. Too many big ideas. We want to sell the one we have now and do a new one yet again...

You are turn key business folk than. It is an excellent way to turn a profit and stay excited about what you are doing.

many liquor licenses are acquired in this manner.

Yes yes.... especially "grandfather clause" liquor licenses that would be lost forever

Sometimes the entire purchase price of the bar/club will be just acquiring the prior owners full rights to the liquor license.

and we wouldn't want to lose that.........

i hear it's hard in utah, around here it seems to not be a problem...just a small fee.
