| Bush worse than a Baseball Umpire ahahauahahahaua -
10-24-05
Quote:
.....
As for umpires, surprisingly, eight out of 10 people surveyed by The Associated Press and America Online believe baseball umpires do either a "good job" or an "excellent job." This despite a handful of highly controversial calls during the playoffs the past two weeks.
....
If only the commander in chief enjoyed similar confidence from the American people. In the most recent CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll, Bush's overall approval rating fell to 39 percent, with 58 percent of the American people saying they disapprove of the job he's doing. This in less than a year after being re-elected to the Oval Office.
The war in Iraq, the federal government's lackadaisical response to the plight of Hurricane Katrina victims, the mushrooming national debt and the president's choices for the Supreme Court are all cited as causes for the collapse of his popularity.
And in case you suspect bias in the polling, the Republican Party's own house organ, Fox News, showed similarly dismal numbers.
What's the White House's response?
"When you are a leader, you can't be driven by polls," said spokesman Scott McClellan. "The president is focused on moving forward on our agenda."
There, of course, is the problem. The president proposes, Congress disposes. And as his popularity wanes, so does his ability to influence legislation.

I NEVER thought that an administration could be worse than Nixon's...I was WRONG, Cheney, Bush, Rove and the resty of the neocons have raped the Constitution.
Impeachment is far too nice for these war-criminals, and now we must take back our nation, and put the criminals that have hijacked the White House in prison. Nothing short of that will be justice for the innocent people they have slaughtered. he keeps giving us more fuel to go with *shrug*
and as for these "highly controversial calls"....
yeah, baseball umpires make calls based on what they see, not based on a million slow mo shots that refs in other games do.

Poor people getting killed to make oil companies and weapons' dealers richer. Everyone who supports this war is a fucking retard and doesn't deserve to live. Quote: |

| Unlike other major sports, baseball does not allow teams to appeal refereeing decisions to instant-replay machines. Personally, I like that. I detest the slothful pace of football. Bad enough they have to call a meeting after every play. But the additional dead time caused by instant replays is intolerable.
Yes, I know, the instant-replay cameras catch some errors, but those judgment calls add a human element to the contest, a variable that makes watching the game all the more suspenseful. i was saying that i think it's a good thing. I can't watch football. CAN'T.
I seriously don't understand why people say baseball is a slower sport. watching football always puts me to sleep, it just feels like it has no point. none.

Anyone who supports the war itself isn't far removed from supporting the death of soldiers. This war wasn't to defend our country, although that was the blatant lie that many bought into...some out of ignorance, some because they stood to benefit. Well ultimately it was to defend the country. I know you dont believe it but thats because youre not looking at the big picture. A stable and democratic Iraq and Israel will eventually help to spread influence around a very volitile area. the nukes and bio agents and all that stuff was just fluff to get us there, what we are doing is for long term interests of security. Believe it or not.

Believe it or not. | I guess this would be true, if we were actually winning the war. But all we have done is make things worse, the middle east is now a training ground for terrorists multiplied hundreds of times over what it was before U.S. invaded. It cant get much worse, but if you think it has you can ask the women living in Iraq and Afghanistan. And Who says we arent winning? just because we are stuck there until its prepared to handle the job itself doesnt mean we lost or are losing. It sucks, but youre thinking too short term. How will Iraq look in 10 years from now after it has rebuilt its army and police forces and isnt being ruled by a madman?

It is, in the long run, a benefit to not only America but to many other countries. A dictatorship is beneficial to no one except the dictator. Economic and social stability in a country like Iraq will allow the whole world to reap some pretty stellar benefits, not to mention putting more than a few people at ease. I don't support death of anyone, but I'm logical enough to realize there are shitty consequences to every endeavor.
And by your logic, anyone who supports a war supports the death of those fighting it. What a load of crap. Ever war has casualties. If it wasn't for the casualties in a little war called THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, we'd be eating tea and crumpets with our yellow teeth about now. If it wasn't for the casualties in THE WAR OF YANKEE AGRESSION, I'd be beating my darkies about now. Being dead must suck. But if you commit yourself to the military, you're committing yourself to possible death and war. In Memory of the Busby Babes :
