Sometimes its simply inappropriate. Guys without shirts isnt = to girls without shirts. The same reason most people are "offended" when guys run around the beach in a thong.

I know breastfeeding is natural and beautiful and all that, but its also distracting in public. Bring the baby to a private place and feed it, or carry a bottle. Dont just whip your milk sack out and start feeding the baby in the middle of a shopping mall or whatever. Thats rude. Farting is natural too, and if I can I save mine for the bathroom when im in public because I am not a rude douchebag to just let er rip and be like, ahhhhhh that feels better!

Well that makes perfect sense, but there are just some places where you just can't wait, for instance on the subway, no bathroom on the subway, no stopping either, of course the same would go for farting on the subway, my opinion is that it would be unhealthy not to. Sure body fluids are gross, but no ones forcing you to watch, it's not messing up your healtlh to be near it, let it slide I say.

actually, any mother with half a brain and common sense should know their babies feeding scheduel within the first month, which is usually every hour or so. so i understand how irritating it might be to carry around several bottles and/or a pump.

babies don't need to feed at the exact moment, to the minute. sure, they may get fussy, but waiting 5-10 minutes for the mother to walk to the car or a restroom won't send the childs development out of wack.

i'm sure there is the rare occasion when a mother has no choice but to whip it out, and while i can't think of what these reasons are, i'm will to give them the benefit of the doubt.

all other mothers, which is a good 95% NOT from a foreign/island/third world country, really don't believe they are being rude and/or don't give a damn.

My wife is breastfeeding right now, we know when the little bugger is going to eat and if we are going to be out, we have a bottle of pumped milk ready.

if there were ever an emergency (stuck in traffic... or whatever) and the kid needed to eat im sure my wife would feed him no matter where we were.

Next time you see it happen, ask if you can have some too.
Personally I try my best not to pay attention to what others are doing in public. When I worked security, I saw way too much weird shit to scar me mentally for a lifetime.

Feeding in your car is hardly being "in public".

I agree with Billy and BlyssfulStorm. I can't think of any excuse as to why a nursing mother would need to pop a tit out in the middle of a restaurant or grocery store. Not when there are plenty of breast pumps with which you can fill bottles and take them along. I think it's rude and disgusting, personally. I also have a pet peeve regarding women (or men, as the case may be) putting on make-up in public. I hate seeing some whore fixing her face at the dinner table or in the produce aisle at the Wal-Mart. Arrrgh.

Would it bother any of you so much if the mother threw a blanket over her shoulder and chest, covering whatever "nastiness" is going on below? I've seen that a lot of times, especially back home since it's god-forsakenly cold most of the year. That way, you can't see what's going on underneath, there's no reason to get disgusted, and the baby eats. Mission accomplished. I don't have anything against breastfeeding mothers, but the majority of those I see that feed their babies in public without covering up at all are just attention seeking whores.

I don't see what is rude or gross about it. It may be a bit awkward if I have to talk to the lady doing the breast feeding though.

Some people think that breastfeeding is a way to bond with their baby, or something like that. So I suppose some women don't want to pump the milk and whatnot... they want that connection with their kid. I'm just guessing here, I've heard people talking about this issue before, and that's what I've heard from them.

i know most babies refuse bottles in their first few months. ok, figure out their feeding time, plan your outing around that, then go find a fucking bathroom. it rude to those around and it's not like the baby can tell the difference where they are. or at least do the blanket thing if they can't get away.

and I agree... but those women that get pissy and offended I think are simply doing it for the attention. Look at me! I have a baby! LOOK DAMNIT! Then when people look, she gets even more attention by drawing attention to the fact that they're looking and being "perverted". Asshats. Any woman with ANY sense of decency would cover herself with a blanket. Not just decency for herself, but out of respect for those around her.

when was the last time you ate in public? I don't see any reason to discriminate against people eating in public based on age.

It’s funny/sad how the so call civilized parts of the world seem to keep forgetting how to feed them selves naturally, or at lest are offended by it.
