i was watching oprah today (sad as it may seem) and on there was this kid who was thirteen and already graduated high school
and is like trying to degrees in aerospace engineering, mathematics, and some other shit, he also was nominated more the noble prize for peace since he travels to foreighn countries to help them, and because of him Jan. 1 (i think) is national peace day....obviously this kid is of high intelligence, but would you consider him more intellectual than you? i don't

Probably. I may try to make some feeble attempt at arguing thaqt I may be more artistic or something, but when it comes down to it, his brain could kick my brain's ass.

I'll bet you I would kick his ass in an Iron Chef competition, though.

As has already been agreed, I think, Intelligence is in the eye of the beholder. Is intelligence the ability to find happiness in very little? or to know and apply scientific formula and theories? A high proportion of people who score very high on IQ tests have low social skill levels. Who is to judge? I like the idea of being able to learn something from anyone.

that's a pretty damn high IQ! mine is subsequently lower, like 120-130, but that was from an internet test i took.....

I dislike IQ tests, and so won't share my results. 'Sides, my last one was like 5 years ago.

wow....i hate eerie coincidences.....uh, msn home page had an article about IQ's......what it said was something to the effect like, now scientists consider IQ's not as strong, for they now claim intelligence comes in multiple forms.......other stuff it said was how a mother sued a school district because her son had a high IQ test score but failed a year of school because he had a learning disability.....other stuff it said was how certain identites (like Jews, Hungarians, Russians) were "feeble-minded" because of their low IQ scores......

and this was somewhat comical.....there exists a group called Mensa which consists of the highest IQ people in America, well apparently after a covention, some members went to a diner, where they discovered a salt-shaker filled with pepper and a pepper-shaker filled with salt......they then figured out how to remove the salt and pepper so as to replace in its original container.....to do so, they were going to use a napkin, a straw, and an empty shaker....but before doing so, they decided to call the waitress over to dazzle her with their wits.....they said, "Ma'am, the salt shaker contains pepper and the pepper shaker contains salt..." to which the waitress replied, "Oh, sorry." and then she removed the white cap (salt) from the pepper bottle and the black cap (pepper) from the salt bottle and placed the caps on the right bottle......

That's an ongoing joke, that comes from one of Mensa's books of intellectual problems; I don't believe it really occurred.

Technically, I'm a genius. Yay. A lot of good it does me, my best years of mental growth (pre-15) were wasted. Utterly wasted. In public schooling. I didn't learn a thing in mathematics in school until freshman year.

I hate Mensa.
