so your saying your not amibitious? could that be a form of ambition as well?
i do not think it is necessarily a good or bad thing depending on how ambitious one is, but i do think ambition makes life a little easier......having ambition/dreams is like living a dream, if you obtain it then you will have a happy life, if you don't, then your life becomes a nightmare......

Ambition to do what? When a person wants and acquires money we call it ambition, when they want to lie on a beach all day we call it laziness. Both people have merely identified a goal and acheived it. I think identifying and acheiving goals is a good thing.

I think it depends on what you consider ambition.
If you see it as something that peopel have as part of their strength to accomplish their main goal in life, or reach their 'dream' then no, I don't think its a bad thing to not be ambitious at the moment.
If you are unsure as to what you want to acomplish, or have not yet decided on how you want to make your mark on society, then what use do you have for ambition as the moment. It is not uncommon for people to not know exactly how they fit into today's world. With all the choices and opportunities we have in modern society, its more then a little scary to narrow down to a few things that you want to do, or be known as doing.
Now, if you think you know exactly what you want to do, or have specific goals you want to accomplish and still have no ambition to carry them out, then I think you might need to re-examine those goals. What makes you want to reach those goals but still have no drive to actually make it happen? Pressure, jealousy, excitement of diving into the unkown? Maybe those aren't the proper motivational keys you need, and thus not the correct goals for you. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. It totally depends on how you define ambition. I usually think of ambition in reference to a long term plan for career and monetary gain. With this definition I would not be considered ambitious as these things are not my personal objectives and I live too much for the moment. To me ambition is neither good nor bad, it's a choice. Isn't it perfect how we consider hate and fear paramount sins nowadays? Hate and fear are, at their core, not wanting. The classic bigguns were pride, greed and lust, sins of wanting. So how do you cure sins of not wanting? Consumption. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

There is no sin of 'not wanting' only 'sloth', isn't it? The sin of slothery....or slothifoonery (which is a word of my own devising incorporating slothishism and buffoonery) Learn as if you were going to live forever. Live as if you were going to die tomorrow. --Mahatma Gandhi
