so, what is it?

well, it's a program that you download, get a username for, and choose and watch shows, for free!

there's more than 20,000 shows on there, all put up legally.

Joost contracts with show makers, who put their episodes/shows on there.

The problem with tv shows on the internet, is people get to watch them for free. Sure that's okay for people who make their own shows, but what about people like the BBC or NBC or Aardman or Adult Swim who spend thousands or millions even making shows and series? well, they gotta get their money back somehow or they will just go out of business. Through Joost advertising and suchlike, the company gets paid for their shows being on Joost, and you don't have to pay for watching them. Bonus! everyones happy

even Endemol (big brother etc) have signed up to have their shows on there.

all you gotta do, is watch a small commercial before the show, some shows you don't have to. plus, every advert is related to the program you want to watch, or others you have watched, or ones it'll reccomend to you. while watching the adult swim channel their adverts were just the shorts before the shows that they have on adult swim. which are great and worth seeing anyway

troma are on there. aardman animations are on there. adult swim are. alliance atlantis, even happy tree friends. loads of flash animation companies from the net plus of course, because it's streamed tv, you can pause, fast forward, rewind and everything.

works in window mode, or fullscreen, has in built widgets like channel chat where you can talk with people watching the same shows or suchlike, and other funky things. the menu system is great and i'm guessing it's quite ipod video / iphone inspired. works very well.

it wants a minimum of 512mb ram, but i really think it needs at least 1gig, and the other system resources limits are good and not too high, it works well.

episodes change now and again, i watch alot of the adult swim shows and they change and go up and down now and again, and there's NHL on there and NFL and god knows what else. i spent half an hour just looking through channels. it's brilliant.
