this piece of software is a beta at the moment, but with OSX leopard it'll be included as a full load.


there's also a nice third party piece of software for mac, kinda like VMWare, but not virtual.

it allows you to load up other operating systems, be it windows

(from 95 - XP tested working, not sure if they have done Vista)

or distros of Linux (many tested, see their site)

and run it at the same time as running OSX. they boast it boots xp in half a minute.

What kind of shit do you want to do on your Mac? I mean, you can do anything you can do with Windows. And it's running on Unix, so you can tweak all kinds of shit if you know what you're doing.

I have a Mac and a PC. Somethings I'd rather do on the Mac, and vice versa.

i do reccomend surfing through the entire apple website. theres loads of free widgets and programs and utilities you can get through it.

i only have 10.3.something as thats all thats supported on my beige power mac g3 units that i have. i bought two of them as complete barebones units
(no hdd or memory, no kb/mouse, and no displays)
for £15 from some guy in order to learn mac systems. i rebuilt them and got them working again.

took me a while to find things when trying to install osx and get the thing booted up with a new hdd in, but yeah once i had got osx installed i learned pretty much everything on the os in 2 days.

what i've found, is theyre strange and arse about face for advanced pc users, because everything thats important to the system is relatively hidden away. theyre set up for simple users so they can surf the web, look at photos and do simple computer shit, without worrying that they can blow up the world.

can i ask, are you completely new to macs? or is this your first one?

Well Im actually getting it so I can edit video and film for not only my personal pleasure, but for business and school. And I know how to use Final Cut Pro better than Adobe Premiere.

Might I suggest giving Maya a try. If you're into a little digital animation, that is. Mac's are the shit when it comes to movie making.

So I got my Mac Yesterday. And it is truly astounding how awsome this machine is. Its seemless in its application usage, hardly any lag time. And it runs a lot of shit at once. OSX is fantastic. I am really getting the hang of it now. I LOVE FINDER, its SO much easier than windows and more intuitive.

I feel like marrying Steve Jobs right now!

Yeah, they kick ass. Easier to set up your own server. Easier to integrate things together. Awesome fucking speed.
