All I know is stay away from Sony (they now suck) but it looks like you are already doing that.

Why would you want DLP? or is it because you really must have 65"?

Personally I do not own any Sony products and nor do I ever intend on it. They only ever had one thing good for them since the beginning, and that was the Trinitron, which no longer exists. Sony has nothing going for them now.

hmm, that's fucking cheap. wish i could get a tv like that over here for that kinda price.
i just hope you have a most rediculously gigantic room to support it and an incredible audio system to back it up. big screens with shite sound are fucking bad.
get crypt in this thread.
Right... so.
The tv looks okay, but beware with projecting tvs. they can create wierd vision effects (in terms of what you see around you) and can give headaches, nausia and sickness. Sure you might not suffer, but if your friends come over and can't watch your tv because it makes them chunder... That's not cool.
It looks like it'd be good quality and suchlike, but I wouldn't be too sure of it. I've seen some DLP mondos, and I've not been all that impresed.
If you really want a fucking massive TV, I'd say go for a Projector and get a pulldown screen. watching normal telly on a rediculous screen really is tedious and i wouldn't advise it. My friend just got rid of a 63" Plasma system worth 8G because his electricity bill went up $600 a month, and watching normal tv on it was just horrible. films are great, but watchin tv normally just got on your nerves.
I'd suggest getting yourself a decent normal television, 32"-42" depending on room size, then shell for a pulldown projector screen and a projector for when you want to have maximum movie/gaming experience.
if you really have to get a massive TV, then go for a LCD/TFT rather than a DLP. Don't get Plasma. For one thing, your electricity bill will skyrocket.

For that price look at 46" - 48" LCD from Sharp (Aquos) and Samsung.

what do I need to be in this thread for? One knows more about this shit then I do, but ya, I have a 42" Shapr Aqous and love the tv even though it ins't hooked up to a HD signal You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.

I'd go for the projector idea too. My parents have a huge bravia and I can't deal with it unless DVDs are on.
Normal tv is crapola on it. Things get wobbly and make you feel seasick.
I have a trinitron that still works fine. I've rigged HDTV up on it no probs. But I have to say I've contemplated the projector idea for DVDs and games. Projector is the best bet for gaming 100%...DLP is not only expensive energy wise, but everyone I know that has gotten one at some point the colors get weird.

make it easy on yourself, go with LCD. Projector suck unless you plan to spend $3000+ and DLP is a thing of the past. Stay away from plasma. The TV Crypt got is an excellent choice if you can get one at a good price, otherwise look at samsung. I would not even bother looking at other brands as these are the 2 best.
