Has anyone got any experience with roxio cd & dvd creator? I have been having issues with nero and thought of switching over...just curious what other people think of it...any information you migh have would be helpful...thanks

what version of nero were you using?

i had issues with nero and it turned out to be my dvd writer.

i didn't think it was, becuase other software was working still, but very soon they stopped working. completely. to be honest, i've used roxio in the past and wasn't all too impressed. just didnt like the layout really. nero is quick, easy, does what i want it to and does it easy enough. then again, if it works for you, then its good. after all, all it has to do is put the files to dvd/cd blu-ray or hd-dvd (if you're rich enough)

i've bought a new dvd writer, a lovely sata one too works fine with nero.

but yeah, try out some other programs and if you keep getting rejected burns, it might be a problem with your actual dvd writer.

i was using Ultra 7...It screwed up on one and then it screwed up on the new one right after it was installed...so well fuck it it is gone and i will be installing roxio real soon

the biggest problem i've had with nero is when it wants to write files it's own way. not how i want them.

Right now, i'm just trying to find codec so i can watch the DVD i burned!

that should help you out in terms of codecs.

gom player i think comes with every codec you may need if not check out free codecs and get free-kazaa codecs

i wouldnt touch anything to do with kazaa.

ffdshow is a massive collection of video and audio codecs. plus it cleans up video and audio and has many many settings itself. really recommend it.

the kazaa codecs are free of spyware and i have ysed them for years, but on free-codecs you can get other packages. I got it off of softpedia which is one site that I have never had any issues with spyware

well, just go into the options and choose which things you want ffdshow to work with, and then just run shit. it'll work.

Heh.. i couldn't find a readme to know that..

so i did that.. now how do i get the movie to play on either media player, nero, or creative? cause the ffd doesn't include a player..

use something VLC ot GOM to play the DVD

ffdshow is a codec pack. it recognises when media players associated with itself (yet another option in the ffdshow setuppyoptions thingy) plays a movie or audio file in the formats associated with itself and takes over as the decoder for the player.

just choose in the ffdshow list which media player you want to use.

i use THE CORE MEDIA PLAYER and WMP
