....alright alright, quiet everybody. each week all poets of our board, here in our humble abode are to stop here at least once and post a poem they have selected as the POEM OF THE WEEK~I am considering a top three selection, U can all tell me what U think of that~. On saturday each week me and Arc shall select the top five entered poems and post them for U to vote on. The voting period will run through sunday~sat & sun~, by monday the order of winners will be anounced. OK now come tell me what U think

Isn't the real reason to write but for self expression and not some pat on the back...

who spoke of validation, we're speakin of motivation. U talkin to me now remember not the asswipes who'd do such a thing. hope being to maybe reinforce the act of expression in other wise youngsters who bottleup their emotions and consequently turn into disturbed destructive individuals. besides the increased communications of folks from different walks of life will promote increased awareness and eventually I hope less chance of the kind of disasters we have just sat by and watched being conducted on our behalf by god assuming ruling elite groups of ____________ criminals. I'll be the first in line to vulenteer my life no less in anything that helps cut these mot__r F__ke__ balls off. ok thats all clear?

Paul and eeeeh eheeem catanyn, both of U signup for the round table and we shall all choose a judging team, I am suggesting each week everybody gets to elect up to three picks and then top five are selected by judges to be voted on by everybody as a whole. the big question is do we do this a monthly or weekly, I think it may just make more sense done on a monthly bassis. selections must be of which has been posted by the author no more than thirty days prior to the selection, no one can select their own words, and I really think the whole event and process can bring everyone together and make for a tighter familly, but only if we all get involved and participate. Maybe instead of judging poems that are "Better" than others...
we should pick them by "most creative" or something that doesn't make the other contributors feel their work is inferrior just because they did not get selected. Especially regarding those who might be just starting to find them selves with words.
Just a thought. I'd hate to see peoples feelings get hurt, especially after they put so much time and effort into a piece. Not everyone is going to like the same thing, not everyone writes in the same style...so judging will not be an easy task. But I do like the "Poetry of the week" Idea!!

I doubt this will be a hurt feelings event, besides we can even make a bit of a workshop and suggest and point-out shit to eachother. the whole thing depends on attitude and perspective. if folks are gonna be in it with a chip on their shoulders it wont work. if all are up to a friendly event of fun and elevation, then its ON LIKE DONKEY KONG, aside from that I don't really feel like babysittin and worryin about hurt feelings and shit

Dont be a big old meany face! I was just pointing out that it could happen. I doubt that people will contribute with a chip on their shoulders...but some of us "sensitive" people might feel less confident in our work than others. he he he
I think we should encourage all levels of skill and judge them accordingly...thats all!
