RAWR!!!!!!!!!!!!! hello, this should be in offtopic, unless you post some poetry soon....i'm six, somewhat of a poetic nazi here.....thought i'd just let y'know ahead of time.....

friendship, maybe. but, he did ask for advice on writing, so it's not so bad.

as for advice, best i can say is don't listen to advice. trial and error works, because you can see where things need changing or leaving alone, but any advice without example goes no deeper than your head.

head poetry is fine for fun, but if you're wanting art, it needs to be deeper.

but, that's just my view on the subject. ::shrug::

hmm welcome to df. I am postign this thread in the smoke room as that is the place where poetry style/art is discussed (in theory). As for tips, rhyming bad, emotion and imagery are good and if the metaphors and such make sense even better.

Reach for the unordinary, grasp the abstract thought process, and shed light on the delusions of the world.

Don't ask me; you may hate what I think is "good." As far as technical proficiency is concerned: read your ass off.

I think my answer was much better, I squeezed out a heaping pile of creativity.
