Just sometimes socks...I really don't recall many other things disappearing from the dryer. I have a theory on how the centrifugal force of the dryer creates a vortex, etc. and I often wonder if that theory were true if there is a place in space where there are a bunch of stray socks floating around and also it would be possible that you could wind up with stuff from someone else's dryer in yours because of this.
But I digress...

Considering the fact that my work is split now:

1) Primary current job - NO!

2) What I REALLY like to do: Sometimes, considering some of my clients are also friends. It all depends on the whos, whys, and wherefors.

I don't give money b/c I don't like that part of it goes to administrative costs. I give items a few times per year, but I am not a philanthropist.

My worst would be financial ruin b/c I value my self sufficiency above nearly all else. I've fortified myself against difficult circumstances though, and I know from past experience I've got the endurance to bear them and the determination to fight back to a status that's acceptable to me.
