Just because one dude's family eats meat doesn't mean all of Indians and Hindus eat meat. Brush up on some of your cultural studies before making generalizations.

well several things about your reply...technically that's not racism, i guess it'd be more countryism...i have nothing against eastern indians as a race or a culture...they're living life like everyone else, and have an amazing culture...however...i won't be travelling anywhere outside of the states as an american anytime soon...i do watch the news, and it would seem most of the world is not fond of america, and i really wouldn't expect a warm welcoming, like apple barrels, a few have ruined the bunch.

LOL learn that everyones unique before you try to brush everyone the same through your book learned cultural studies. almost ALL Hindus i met eat chicken or lamb. Iveonly met a VERY VERY few of them that are strict vegitarians.

Actually im right... i have a lot of Indian friends. One of my collegues is married to an Indian man. She informs me that indeed they do eat chicken and lamb.. maybe you should get away from your theories and books and meet a few indians.

Billy the Kidd, let me see if I understand this correctly. You have travelled the entirety of the country India? You have encountered the stark contrast between Northen and Southern influences? You have visited and lived the ways they do in Tamil Nadul, which by the way is predominantly vegetarian. You have seen with your very eyes that the far North is very influenced by its neighbour Pakistan and the cuisine includes just about any meat you can imagine. You know firsthand that the country India is made up of 25 states and 7 territories, with 18 major languages, 1600 minor ones. And there are 7 major religions, each dictating what the diet would be like.

You don't have a clue about Hinduism and until you do rather refrain from proclaiming you know about every culture under the sun. Just because you have a couple of Westernized Indians, i.e. they live in the West, does not mean that they represent the entire diversity of India. You stil generalize but you fail to see this. You think you know, but you don't. And from encountering your other posts on DF I would say you have all the world's different cultures in your backyard, because you're friends with all of them and that needless to say makes you an expert on everything.

meet some of the people before speaking about them. To date i have over 20 Indian friends and 3 Pakistani ones. these are just personal friends of mine from college or highschool.. im not even counting the ones ive worked with, or the ones my friends know.
