white lily boosts morale, but honestly she's not one to implement discipline, nor have i seen much criticism out of her. in her defense, encouragement is important in the event that untapped talent comes along.
but untapped talent needs someone to impress too, and if you don't say "no that's not impressive", the challenge never comes along.

if it's about lily, it's my perception that we need another poetry mod and one that picks up where she may not be the strongest. just a little.. brainstorm i had.

I think that mods should have absolutely no power over what is said on a board unless it is outright flaming that has no intent of stopping (which disrupts the flow of Any Thread) and/or a said comment is a threat to a person's life or something relatively serious. Mods shouldn't have any say in what can or can not be said in terms of taste. It shouldn't even be their job to keep the Section alive. That's up to the patrons of this forum. If no one writes poetry, then there's no use for the section. It has nothing to do with a mod...the conceptions sure are blurry to some people. They're supposed to help keep/maintain order not set borders. The End.

i disagree. i mean, why kick a dead horse? (concerning a thread topic) if ppl Choose to lose interest on their own, then they've lost interest. it should be a collective effort by everyone to keep a thread alive. i've no qualms if a mod wants to put forth that effort, i'm just saying that as a mod, ~I~ wouldn't do that. My motto would be "I'm a forum member first and a mod second (and only if the need arises)"

for the most part, actually, in all that i can even see on this forum, lily is the only mod that seems to have Public issues with people...this is including the Bitch board and the Serious discussion board.....which is alarming. The other day, I minorly flamed a patron cause he was being dumb in my opinion and i was pmed a reminder of the rules. Problem solved. It could have even been you (Synikul) that PMed me that and you're not a mod and it would have made the same difference to me. Mods with power sticks up their asses shouldn't be mods. This is an Internet site. If someone is power hungry, run for office or something worthwhile...

While it was fanfuckingtastic not to have rules, we all have to admit things have changed. While we may not have uber amounts of active posters, the "name" is out there. Thus the random spamming. However, I don't think it's necessary to have a mod for every board. Christ on a stick, kids. There's not enough POSTING to require a babysitter for the sub-forums. Even though Assinik is a disgusting putz, I figure he, Crypty-poo, and whoever else the supermods are could handle the minimal amount of crap that goes on here.

as one of the ones who in some way started this.....although, i guess more credit would go to Anti as he actually was the first to bitch about her reactions.....um, i'm rather um.....i guess conflicted....

in one aspect, i like Lily....i do....i think she's a sweet gal....but another part of me does agree that her mod techniques are a lil'.....blah

i mean, she most definately got the mod-job because she does nothing but visit the poetry section....and i think that adds to one of her problems of bein' a mod....

specifically, we almost have to dance around on tip-toes and be overly nice in some aspects in the poetry section.....which is where i come in....most here are aware that although i may not have been the first one, i was really the main one who would go off on peeps postin' their shit pathetic poetry.....i'm just glad that the poetry section is now changing, and more people are seein' it my way, and even Lily has gotten to the point where if she doesn't like sumtin', she'll kinda say so.....

but one thing i really hate is how we gotta be nice to the new peeps because we want it to be all lovey-dovey and inviting......DF itself is somewhat of a harsh place, but how many nubbies post and then never return? a shit ton.....so who cares if some nubbie posts a shit poem and we say it sux (in a manner of speaking?)........

anywho.....i like Lily, i do, and i'm not sayin' that she doesn't deserve to be a mod, but if peeps have problems with her mod abilities......i dunno, maybe sumtin' should be done? i personally have nothing against her as a mod, but maybe another mod more along the lines of my and anti's and quiet's new war on the poetry section might be in order......i unno

the reason people are told not to insult in areas like poetry and photography is so that arguments dont' become the main attraction (or else it'd all just be "off topic" and "bitch"). i mean let's face it, if you could argue in the pics section, that's the only thing that'd be going on. it's not just for the purpose of pampering sissies.

it was a matter that i gave a critique, in which i told the individual that rhyme scheme no longer has a place in poetry and definately not in the DF poetry section....said person got all bitchy, so i called 'em out on it....Lily, bein' her ole' jolly-NEGATIVE- CRITICISM-HAS-NO-POINT self gave a smack down.....

quite frankly, i'm gettin' kinda sick of it, as are some of the others, as is evident with this thread......pick any section you go to, someone is lippy, you say sumtin' about it....yes? right........but to be told by a mod to stop it, simply because they have a beef with your idealogoy is wrong.......

now, about me....i'm practicially the only mother fucker here at DF who gives any kind of critique whatsoever.....you've encountered my critiques surreal.......i go in depth with it, and present myself in a seemingly professional manner.....now, i admit that in the past in the poetry section i got all "YOU SUCK, GO AWAY!" but that was then and this is now.....besides, others have done the same and still do, but i try to compose myself in a respectable manner.....

but there's the case with the nubbies......many of the regulars at the poetry section and at DF in general no longer like goin' to the poetry section because of all the shit poetry and the nubbies takin' over......but Lily wants it to be all warm and inviting, so when nubbies come in (and by the way, most of them do not stay) we're losin' regulars....who's more important here? nubbies who constantly come and go, or regulars? why jeapordize havin' a section people would love to visit simply because you want it to be all warm and friendly?

and by bein' all warm and friendly, the problem with critiquing has occured......many of us there refuse to accept Lily's "always give posiitive feedback" outlook......we've been discussin' it for months.....we all say no, and she says yes....and we're s'posed to obey her simply because she's a mod??????......some of us have even tossed out the idea of creatin' a new sub-cat for nubbies all their own, or for people who don't want a critique of any kind and just want to hear "oh wow, that was like...so wonderful"......well, it won't happen, nor will it really solve anything....

the point is, when us regulars critique one another, we're all kool with each other and love the critiques.....some nubbie comes in and 9 times out 10 we give out critiques (especially me) which has a lot of negative feedback....said nubbie getz bitchy and whiny and so Lily tries to play all mom like and tells us to stop.....she's says that she's even got PM's of nubbies bitchin' and whinin' because of the negative critiques (and she single handedly pointed me out)....i think she's lyin' myself, but whatever.....anywho, i say let 'em whine...nubbies come and go anyway.....but if they want to take our critiques and understand that this is how we want the poetry section to be, then great!!!!!

so it comes down to who is the poetry section for? is it for Lily?! is it for the nubbies? or is it for the regulars here at DF? or is it for the poets? to Lily, itz for her and the nubbies......and so some of us got some beef with this......

now, then you also have to take into account that if a regular gives a negative critique, and a nubbie gets all whiny and bitchy with said regular, you damn well know that the regular isn't goin' to take that shit.....and thatz what happened....this chick got bitchy (even with me in another section) so i called her out on it and said she was a bitch, but i by no means flamed her....i don't think so.....but Lily said what she said simply because she disagrees with my ideaology and looks for any excuse she can to tell me to shut up.....that is my beef with her.....she's constantly on our asses for our negative critiques and if a nubbie gets lippy and we stand up for ourselves.....

like i said before, i like Lily, i do....but it seems evident that a majority of the poetry section regulars have problems with her, and she herself tries to conduct the poetry section the way she wants it.......so, i say that if there is problems with her mod methods, do sumtin' about it......i don't think we should strip her of her mod capabiliities, but should just elect another mod for the section as well.............and i'm half tempted to nominate myself.......

also, Lily even openly admits that she comes to DF simply for the poetry section which also makes me question her mod ability.....she doesn't check out the other sections and isn't too familiar with all the regulars.....all she knows is the poetry section, and not DF as a whole...or even a lil' bit.....should this qualify her for a position as a mod?

i like her, but i do question the way she mods the poetry section.....and since so many people are so animate in their feelings of her mod capabilities, i think we need another mod down there....

If we're giving people power simply because they post a lot in a certain area, that's just crap.
