My parking garage has a sign at the entrance that says "autos only; no motorcycles permitted." That's fine; since i don't own a motorcycle, I'm not the least bit offended. However, upon entering the garage, there is an area against the wall with a big sign that says "motorcycle parking only." What the fuck? You think that after years of going in and out of this place, some guy with some say in the dealings of the garage is gonna notice this little inconsistency. Stupid assholes...

pinto is a horse, not just a bean. i unfortunately know this be rembering the horse emblem on my mom's old pinto station wagon. but it had a mustang motor in it after she oil starved the original motor. i can't say anything for the rest.

They're really good cars for autoXing. A mazda MX6 won G stock many years in a row. I've been autoXing mine for around 3 years now, and for a front wheel drive car, it handles really nicely.

never tried. however she has the contour svt and that was sweet. a little big for autoxing but she whipped ass on a national contender with just a k&n drop in filter. curious as to see what she can do if they get this car tuned. all i did w/ the contour was turn on the wipers every run. turned better then my wrx did for being fwd. still not as fun as james 80 rx7 though. not sure how my 91 will do. my 79 had no power but its suspension wouldn't even lean. now i have power but its not near as tight.

Just get some good shocks and she'll kick ass in the Probe. If it's a GT, then she'll want to be careful with wheelspin, they will definitely do that in tight corners.

it has 200k on the od and enough blow by on the piston rings to warrant new spark plugs quite often, lol. she has some meaty treads for it. i think she's looking at a spring strut combo but they've spent all their money right now. i'm trying to get james to buy my jacob's pro-street ignition so i can replace my blown front struts.

I think the most benificial mods for a probe woud be good tires, shocks, and a large rear anti-sway bar. You can fit wider tires on a Probe than on the other cars in G stock, so it has an advantage. I run 245/45ZR16 Hoosiers on my car. The grip is insane. Oh, and a rear strut bar. Being a hatchback, they will flex some.

Your rex will do just fine. I have a friend that raced one for a long time, and he did really well in his car.

if i get the shocks fixed. the front looks like a caddy. boing boing. however, last night it was james and cindy in my old 79 rx7, jen and i in the 91, and my other autox friend joe and pat in joe's 95ish miata (yeah we think he's probably gay) all lined up at the light. i knew the 79 would be slow as it ran a 17.2 1/4 with me 125lb ass in it. james weighs 330. however i didn't expect to spank joe's miata as bad as i did.

edit: i'm stuck in the server room the rest of the afternoon finding licenses. damn it.

Miatas will suurprise you on an autoX track. they don't have much power, but they can take a slolam like it's a straight line.

oh trust me i know. if we are to turn he'll eat me alive. that and i'm open diff and he has a torsen. the guy that runs the autox here in louisville is super fucking fast in a miata. we also have another mazda couple that has 3 miatas, one normal, one turbo, one v8, and a few 3rd gen rx7's. we usually have 120+ cars at each event here. 7's, z06's, miata's, bimmers of all models, vipers, 911's, then the customs. we had a 911 turbo show up but he didn't race so we just made fun of his rich pompous ass. of course he had to get on it leaving the stadium parking lot. needless to say a turbo flat 6 sounds so sweet. braaaaapppppppppp

And fast as hell too. I haven't autoXed in a while, here int he Dixie region we lost our area, so we've had to look for a new place. ANd now I'm joining the military, so it will be a LONG time before I do it again.
