It seems to me that dependant on what day you register here, and what mood people are in (maybe Venus is in Uranus or something) directly relates to the outcome of whether or not you are welcomed. It can also depend on who responds to the post first - if someone 'popular' responds in a negative way - then it's a free flame fest for all - we all hate the fucker. Or, if they respond in a positive way - wow, the guy's a star!
So, a new person posted in the Bitch Board, or whatever the hell it's called now. SO WHAT? Oh.. and if that person then retaliates, they are an instant arsehole? Well done there in creating a new interest in DF.

Firstly - sorry for my profanities there Dirge, you're a cool guy in my book - BUT! Yes, I read the thread, I saw the pictures.. and I really don't see a problem with the guy. We all know this used to be the Bitch Board, but it's been re-named 'Open Discussion' so is it any wonder that people might post in here not expecting a flame war?
AND - if they do post in here, as a new user - and they get a shit load of crap, then of course they are going to defend themselves! That defensiveness coming from a new user might be interpreted as being an arrogant tit - but personally, I have more respect for someone who's going to stick up for themselves than someone who just fucks off and doesn't post again cos they couldn't take the crap - get my drift? although, perhaps this is all a little too late now, mores the pity.

I get your point, fully. It's a formulaic scenario, seen it a plenty of times. But even if this dude wasn't a newbie, safe to say I would still think he sucks.

Still, I still stand by what I said, he made a boob, he got flamed for it, he retaliated - I don't see anything wrong with that. I don't think he's been any worse than a lot of people around here, infact - by comparison, he's an absolute angel!
