oooh i heart tatoos. i almost got a new one with a friend who came into town yesterday, but they were booked as HELL and over quoting prices to deter business. they quoted a 40 dollar tat as 100 and a 100 dollar one as 250.....yeah.

so i ended up getting my nipples repierced again cause the piercer there is freakin awesome, i love him. i almost got my hood done but the friend went first and freakin screamed so loud the whole shop heard it....

but as of right now i have two tats, a little spider on my hip:

i got tatted yesterday. blugh..... top of the back of my neck, right below the hairline. hurt like a MOTHERFUCKER, but it turned out nicely. It was even more painful than when I got the tat that went over my spine.

What was so appealing about the stoned god, Wicked Lady?

ain't nothing overly elaborate, large, or costly; it's actually the first purely decorative tattoo i've gotten. i wanted a horizontal design right above the Alex Grey cross on my upper back / lower neck that kinda wrapped around my neck a bit, and ended beneath my ears. i found this design that was kinda cool, but i wasn't satisfied with it, so I modified it a bunch. it's just a simple abstract that kinda resembles a spine.... it's got a shaded diamondy thing in the middle, with curved shapes (that kinda resemble ">" and "<" only not straight) radiating from it. They eventually curve downward slightly, following my neck/jawline.

I've been trying to plan out a sleeve for quite some time now, so hopefully that'll be my next undertaking.

i wasn't sure who that guy was so i just looked him up. his work is nuts, and it reminds me of the lateralus album art. was he involved in that at all? is the cross that you have in color? you should definitely post some pics, it sounds kick ass.

It's not really God. That's just what I tell people when they ask me if the tattoo is a political symbol for the legalization of marijuana.

Actually yeah, Alex Grey did all the artwork for Lateralus. Good call. I didn't get it in color because I'm not a huge fan of colored tats, but the shading is so well-done that the thing looks completely 3-dimentional. It's my favorite tat thus far.

right on. i always figured that my tats would be gray work, but then when i saw my artists' portfolio and talked to him about my ideas he highly suggested doing color. i'm glad i did, plus i got lucky and found out that my skin retains color pretty damn well.

you managed to take like 6 pics of your apartment, but you didn't take any pics of your tat... you're fired.
