It's often not that simple to tell how sick you are, especially without even your temperature. A minor bug can feel like the end of the world, while something serious can feel like an irritant. I kind of agree anyway, but that was still probably her reasoning for not going immediately.

Actually you can be seriously sick without ever running a fever. My body is retarded and has never fevered. I've had a sickness that required surgery after 3 months of being misdiagnosed, partly b/c they would see I didnt have a fever and dismiss it even though I knew something was very wrong.

Just b/c you dont know if there is or isnt a fever doesnt mean one can't tell how sick someone is.

I'm really not sure what point you're trying to address. I dont' think anyone said that a high temperature is a sure-fire way of telling whether someone is sick or not. But sometimes people do get quite seriously ill without feeling more than minor annoyances.

Although BB doesn't seem to have acted very pragmatically or intelligently, I guess that's still significantly better than just being apathetically indifferent like her friends. Meh. People should stop being dumb/assholish. But that doesn't seem likely to happen.

But DM is right. Al little tingling in the feet, some pain in the arm, a persistent headache. These can all be minor or they can be signs of a serious illness. No way to tell. So better to be safe than sorry.
