I really do worry for him.

Although he is indeed acting delusional it's impossible to evaluate if he really is or not over the internet alone.

Sorry JP, but taken out of context as you have posted them... all of those comments make perfect sense except the first one. What are you trying to prove with this thread?

They demonstrate a sort of delusional feeling overall, containing mostly a conspiratorial look. And since there are pretty much tons of posts by him with that same sort of attitude one must wonder if he's truly delusional or not.

Those who have conducted in basic "debates" with him, such as Denaly, are far more readily capable of deciding on his mental state.

Okay, that's fucking it. Why the fuck was the political board merged with the other two boards? It makes no fucking sense, and it's causing clutter in this board. It was hard enough keeping track of new shit before. Who's the schmuck who thought this was a good idea? I mean, of all the forums to get rid of, why one of the most popular? Why not, for instance, photography?

I agree with you Dark Messiah(again!?!?!).

I found the political/World news section of the forum nicely placed, and it had enough new things coming in to keep it semi-alive. Then something else was merged with it(wtf was that something else?) and now it's...really annoying.

Why worry about that? There`s plenty of people that think that way or worse. They`re never going to change so I dont see why anyone should bother trying.

Sixguns behavior will not be tolerated anymore.... if he insults within a thread for reasons of ideals alone he will be banned... temporarily at first.... permenently if he continues.... I understand your stance.... Sixgun has just ridden the line for so long and it has gotten tiresome..... just try not to martyr yourself.... i would hate to have to do so to you as well.... I had to warn you off though in all fairness.... I try to be as fair as I can.... and hopefully you understand....

jlb does have a point about the welfare system however...it can help those who need it, but way too many do abuse it...

why not take some of that money and make a program to help the families that have two people working opposing shifts to support a family of four...those that make too much to qualify for assistance, but not enough to not have money concerns?

i'm not complaining mind you, we do have all our basic needs met, my children do have what they need, and we're happy, not because of what we have, because we enjoy walks to the park and such, but mostly because my husband is an amazing budgeter...

but it is rather frustrating having to double check prices on everything making sure we don't go over budget when grocery shopping, when i see two women with three carts of food and one child each...upsetting that we can't afford to take our children to doctors or dentists for basic check-ups, yet they get full medical coverage, and cash?!?! what's wrong with that picture?

we are able to afford two hundred dollars in food a month...what do those women get for...like jlb said, sitting around having babies?

I have nothing personal against his opinions but he constantly has an insulting attitude that should not be tolerated, not to mention spamming the boards and that any kind of valid debate with him is next to impossible. He never makes an effort to prove a point through logic but instead quotes already biased sources and actively misrepresents them while merely asserting that he has won the debate. It's childish and does nothing to further actual debate on the boards.

Good luck getting JLB and Sixgun to even contemplate that concept. To them anything that they declare as being left-wing is evil, thus those of us who don't agree with the war are evil and aligned with terrorism and Saddam.

There does need to be a good system in place, yeah. A few years back, there was a bit of a storm over here about asylum seekers managing to get a better benifit package than the unemployed. At least thats what the papers would have people believe.

Whilst I vehemently disagree with just about everything that JLB says in the politics threads (as anyone who visits those threads will probably have noticed) I have to point out 2 things.

1. Since JLB doesn't (as far as I'm aware) visit this part of DF, I feel very uneasy about a thread existing on it about him without his knowledge. If he's being criticised publicly then he should at least have the opportunity to defend himself publicly. As such, I've PM-ed him to draw his attention to this thread in case he wants to offer his point of view and respond to the criticisms.

2. Although I agree with many of the criticisms about his (and others) style of arguing, I don't think it's something that can really be dealt with on DF without the presence of a full time moderator who has nothing better to do than check through all the posts. That ain't gonna happen. Also, most politicians are lying, dissembling sophists - it isn't really surprising that some people on the DF political threads will ape their style.
