I hate my job



Really, the job's not too bad, it's just the bitchery that comes with it.

Who would have thought that tow-truck drivers could be so pathetic.
Then there's the office staff who are all smiley and nice to your face, but do nasties like give you 3 12hr shifts all together. (I'll quit before that ever happens)

Plus I'm pretty sure I'm getting dicked on the pay rate.
I do the night shift, which is paying out the same rate as day shift. How does that work?

Anybody got a new job for me?

lol- that's why I'm quiting mine. It just sucks and ppl are so disrespectful.

Plus I'm burnt-out.

I'm makin' $150 a week for full-time...I cry every night.

Some of my best jobs were low paid. Having good fellow staff around you makes your job.

Now i'm back in college and getting an education that will expand my mind to be a writer, working for myself.

That's what I'm currently attempting. I have two degrees...one in philosophy, one in creative writing. Freelancing is a bitch, more so when you tell yourself everyday "You're a writer" and yet, you don't write. There's no such thing as a muse, only laziness.

But I'm starting over, fresh. After two years wasted and attempting a failed musical endeavor in a band doomed from the start, I'm organized and ready to jump into it headlong. I've been polishing my stories and seeking publishers. As soon as I think I have everything tidy and perfect, in the mail they go.

As for my job, I work at a book store, and it's kick ass and all, but $150 a week after taxes doesn't really help cover all the bills. I'm struggling, but that's a good thing...I figure it'll be a motivational tactic, because even though it's a job I like, it's still work, and work sucks!

I would never give up my dream for work. NEVER!!!

My job sucks too......fortunately I won't have it much longer, so I can go to school courtesy of the State, so I can go on to bigger and better things (or so I hope)

My job is where I want to be for now. It isn't was wonderful as it was a year ago, but I got a dollar raise per hour last week, so an extra $40 a week will be nice.

It's a shame that most people's jobs are only a stepping stone to bigger and better things. I figure if it's not getting you in the right direction to your dream job, then you really should look elsewhere.

I was job hunting for 8 months after getting my degree. While searching I had a data admin job that sucked ass. I went to interview after interview and every recruitment place I went to told me they couldn't find me anything unless I lowered my standards (my standards at that point was any junior position in a company remotely related to media/creative). I wasn't asking for specifically a graphic design position. I told them I already had a crap job that my degree was wasted in. Why would I want to pay them to find me another crap job that wasn't going to get me anywhere? In nicer terms of course.

i worked at wal-mart and that job sucked. which was why when i got my very last paycheck. i so was fucking happy that i went to the bar and fucking celebrated. that was the best day ever!

I also think we are extremely lucky those of us in creative industries. It costs us next to nothing to just keep on building our body of work up in our spare time. If it's what you want to do, see it as practice and when you have enough of it publish/exhibit it.

In your community, as long as you are doing something you wont go unnoticed. If you are an artist and you finish a painting every 2 weeks, you have an exhibition every few months. After a few years, even if your work isn't that great, you are out there. You are in the minds of the public.

I think some of our greatest artists are not great because of their skill but their sheer determination.

no i don't. i can't get hired for a job. the only thing that i have been concentrating on. is about my stained glass. i figured that once when i become really good at it and keep up with it. that since i enjoy doing what i'm doing. that i can think about selling my own work.. as i keep some of it for myself. i'll ask my teacher some information about it. i'm going to head myself in that direction. i know that a dam minimum wage crappy job won't make me happy.

Well, fair enough. If you can survive without a job, then power to you!

O.k. my turn. I make $6.50 an hour, I am an assistant manager/assistant baker in training, I work 40+ hours a week, and I pay $268 a month in child support. It leaves me with about $500 a month. The store owner says he cannot afford to raise wages, but he can afford to build not 1, not 2, but 3 $200,000+ homes. Go figure

Most likely he'll build them to sell them.....kinda sounds like my In Laws....they are more and more living the gypsy lifestyle with the "gee, this house is too big for just us" and moving around......a LOT.

But then again it could be corporate greed.....

No he's not. One he is gonna rent out, one is gonna be a winter home, and one is gonna be a summer home, he comes back in the bakery and talks to my boss about it........ It kinda pisses my boss off though. Myself, and the lady who supervises the front counter are making as much(well she makes 25 cents more) as the new hires. I have been there over a year, and had to fight for two months to get to where I am at, and my boss hasn't gotten a raise in 7 years.

You also must take into concideration that with the increasing oil prices that the cost of living has risen dramatically, and the government has don't nothing about minimum wage, and something needs to be done.
