Its not very hard to learn...
You learn easy if you want..
*yams*
Japanese is the hardest language to learn if english is your natural one and vice versa. do you speak japanese or are you japanese?
You can look at it as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of human life, or just chalk it up to my being a sick, bloodthirsty monster. Either way, it's all the same.
I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person
" It is easier to write words on water then to try to use argument on a christian"
though on some cartoons i prefer the english voices. just because they fit the character better in my head.
sometimes it's because the voices have more presence, but i suppose mostly its easier for my english mind to decipher and recognise.
and i don't watch anime because i want to be japanese, like alot of anime fans, i watch them because i enjoy the stories and the animation skill and suchlike. so i'm glad when they are translated so an english guy like me can understand the story better. i will listen to a dub if i can, but yeah i enjoy watching movies and the like with subtitles. with cartoons, it doesn't much matter. but yeah with something like... battle royale, or the original hideo nakata ring films, or the kung fu movies, yeah i'd rather watch those with subtitles. becuase with an actor, it's different. when you act, you don't only show the emotion in your body, and the movements you are doing, but with your voice and your voice changes depending on what you are doing and your expressions. a dubbed voice by some person in a studio, just doesn't have that same emotion.
yeah you can fake it, but it sounds and feels alot better coming from the person whos saying "fuck you, you bastard you killed my father" whilst engaging in a most awesome swordfight with them.
i don't care if you think that's not anime or not with the elite anime watcher, or its not the same, blah blah blah, becuase i'm not one. i don't give a fuck. i just like em.
and yes. i take my figurines OUT OF THE ORIGINAL CASING!
if i can, and i invariably do, i tend to watch both.
subtitles on some of the cartoons i like are written by fans and they are very poor translations. so i like to hear the official dub if i can to get a better translation.
though sometimes you can get decent ones.
i've been shown naruto recently and i think i will look into it. a friend of mine has started buying the dvds so i suspect we will have a screening soon.
i want to buy ghost in the shell 1 but i havent found it yet cheaply. i was bought ghost in the shell 2 : innocence and i have been told not to watch it yet.
