It seems that I wasn't the model citizen that I once thought I was. Perhaps a profession working with children isn't the best for me considering why I was canned. Basically, it was for too many write ups, which are as follows:

1) No call, no show (I was fucking hungover alright?)
2) A parent called in complaining that I was pointing and "screaming" at the children to pick up markers on the floor. The kids were like "well I didn't do it." Shit honey, I didn't fucking do it either, but I aint gonna pick that shit up and YOU'RE USING THE MARKERS NOW. PICK THAT SHIT UP.
Late for piss test (it was a total freak thing. How was I to know they were gonna piss test me THAT DAY. I had to call a friend for clean piss and when he got here he couldn't go...bastard)
4) Smoking a cigarette IN MY FUCKING CAR, but on school property, which is illegal.


I've applied at 4 other childcare centers around town, and all of them looked promising. Perhaps I should be a bit more careful from now on.....

I'd say....

a lot of people would be pretty unhappy to know that their kids were being cared for by a person who won't follow the rules. that's why you have to keep your indiscretions low and out of town.

I'm great with kids. I just have a pressing social life. Those write ups were over a years time as well.....

alright, that makes a bit more sense, and i can see how the first three could be justified but damn....smoking in your car? i mean most high schoolers aren't stupid enough to do that (no offense but that really is a stupid thing to do).

I agree with you on the smoking thing, they probably where looking for a reason and made a bigger deal out of that then need be. I can see why they don't want you smoking on thier property, but as you are in your car leaving... that's pushing it. As for the no call/no show, well, that's a big deal at most jobs, espically one where they really depend on you to be there. (I don't know where you are but in NY they number of kids you can have in daycare depends on how many workers are employed and there that day.) Late for the piss test bit, well, that is justifiable. As a parent, I can say that I would NEVER let a stoner watch my kid. (And, no offence, but from what I know you are a stoner.) The parent complaint bit is wack, too. You get assholes all over the place that will bitch about nothing. It's not like you have multiple calls or anything.


Anyway, good luck with the job hunt. But, are you sure this is what you really want to do? Maybe you could go back to school and find something more fitting for your lifestyle.

Nonsense. I never go to work stoned. I couldn't do my job if I smoked and went to work. That's fucking insane. Somebody could get seriously hurt.

My line of work is terrible stressful, I need to unwind somehow.

If you want something more social, then get a job as a cocktail waitress. No one will mind if you smoke on your breaks and you get to have fun. You can live on the tips and your paycheck can go straight to the bank. Easy way to save money.

You also have the daytime for classes at the local junior college if you desire it.

Okay, that just put it into a much clearer light for me. I don't think light drugs (like pot) are "bad", not any worse than drinking or smoking cigs anyway. But, I was under the impression that you did it all the time. Anyway, child psychology is a really good field and I can completely see what this is so important to you. So, givin this new information, my advice is to be more careful at the next job, because you don't want to build a bad name for yourself in the feild. Also, you'll need these recmondations when you are done with your schooling one day.

I've already considered that job, applied, got it, got the dress code, and then never showed up.

This is true, and pretty much what I do. Except, since I take too many fucking classes and have a baby, I can't do it full time. But, you COULD, and most resturants or bars would be flexiable with your hours because most places run from dawn till late at night. But, it won't do jack for your resume.

you don't get shit for a paycheck waitressing. minimum wage for waiting tables is 2.50 an hour.

LOL, where'd you apply? Hooters? I was talking just a normal family style resturant, like Denny's or something. But, a lil cleavage never hurts your tips no matter where you work.

When one says "cocktail waitress" I think a club environment. Many of the clubs here in Austin (including gentlemans' clubs) have them.

I applied at Penthouse. The only club in the world affiliated with the magazine. The dresscode was TERRIBLY expensive. Bustier and shorts/skirt=over $100 for one outfit.

You basically go flirt with a guy, ask him what he wants to drink, go pay the bar with your own money, and then get the cash from the guy when you bring him the drink. Most cocktails move up to dancers...which I was also considering doing. I have a lot of friends who dance...I dunno if that's for me though. I WANNA WATCH KIDS. lol

To me, it would be how much, how often, and When they smoked that would affect my decision. Piss tests are crap when testing for pot. they will show for about a week.. I wish they would come up with a breathalizer version to replace the piss tests.. or a finger scrape version... Maybe a lip dna type one Heh.. Just my thoughts..

No, I agree with the piss test bit. I'm not against smoking pot and I think it's crazy that it's illegal. However, I would not let ANYONE, including myself or my husband NEAR my daughter high. No, no, no.... That's all I ment. But, no offecnce taken and I agree with you for the most.
