I just found out my 18 year old friend is pregnant. PREGNANT. And she's keeping the kid. GAH. This friend had a pregnancy scare like 5 months ago, and she was scared shitless. AND THEN SHE DID IT AGAIN.

Why does it bother you that she is "keeping" it? Like its such a terrible and unheard of thing to do ya know... not abort/murder a baby.

It doesnt bother me that she's keeping the kid. It bothers me that she's in a situation where she has to chose.

Hmm, well from personal experience I can say that accidents do happen. been there with my girlfriend and luckily nature took care of things before anything else went down.

Yes, accidents do happen. And I understand that, and she'd dealing with it well. She's keeping the child, she's dropping the bad habits she has. But my point is recently she thought she was pregnant. And she flipped. She cried a lot, she thought her life was over. But then she went and had unprotected sex again?

this is pretty much a local past time in my area, 14-18 running around fucking anything that appears to have a penis, crying their eyes out because they think they are pregnant, discover they arent so go do it all over again an end up getting preggers...though most of them end up getting rid of them.

Its not bright, thats for sure. Perhaps though in the depths of her despair when she THOUGHT she was pregnant she came to grips with it, and found out that she could have a life still. Going through that sort of thing will really make people do some soul searching.

I dont, in fact ive had both. (not that I was pregnant, but my woman was, but it was my responsibility still.) Luckily in the end nature fixed the situation before I was able to murder my own child... thank merciful god.

Not sure what that has to do with what I said, but if you feel so strongly about it why dont you get your tubes tied? You wont ever have to worry about the risk of it then. I myself want to have children, but not right now. I think the purpose of life in one respect is to pass on your genes to the next generation and leave a legacy. But thats just what I think. I understand some people dont believe in that and think that theyre life is fine with menial things like work or careers, but to me life is all about family and making family members and finding good relationships with people. Again only my opinion.

So it was with a large degree of self hatred that that whole scenario I was describing went down with. To this day I wonder if it happend because I and my girl were so unwilling to go through with it that it willed itself out of existence.
