Life treats some people like shit.
Just to briefly explain this- my grandad has just suffered a second heart attack and has contracted pneumonia. he's 86. if he is going to die then why could it not be quick and painless? makes me mad. bastard fucking angina crap.

painless death only graces maybe 15% and most are those that get hit by drunk drivers or something. aids and cancer are some of the worst. sorry to hear about it though.

he has had such a hard life though. its not fair.

i hope he goes in his sleep.. thats always the best is it not?

Damn, Syb, I'm so sorry to hear that. It isn't fair that he has to go with pain. Life just sucks sometimes. But, at least this way you and your family have a chance to say goodbye. My grandfather died in an accident at work, and died with no pain within a split second. We all thought he was healty as a horse and no one got to say goodbye. The doctors said that had he lived, he would have died with in a few months of a massive heart attack. Damn German Sausage. I miss him. Now I have 2 grandma's and no real grandpa. My other one ran off and never talks to us.

thankyou, so do I. he's barely sleeping because they keep prodding him or changing drips etc, and he cant eat because he doesnt have the strength to cut the food up. they (I think) have tried to drain some of the fluid from his lungs.

I went and spent the day with him and my nan monday before last, and im so glad I did. He's only allowed immediate family at the moment so I cant go and see him.

I have 2 nan's, one of whom is senile and I will probably never see again due to my father and his brother fighting over what they will do with the house when she dies
The other is married to said grandad and says once he is gone she doesnt want to live.

It must be one of the hardest things in the world to lose a spouse when your so old and have been together for your whole life. It's like losing your legs or something, like they're a part of you.

mm I know, im kinda concerned she will kill herself or something.

I doubt that, unless she has sucidal tendencies. Sad to say that some times older people who are in that situation die on they're own, due to the depression. I hope she'll be alright.

Welll, there are times in life, I guess, when there's really nothing you can do but pray. You can't change what's going to happen to your grandparents, and all you can really do is wait. Which is the most painful thing to do in times like these. You're in my prayers, Syb. You and your family.

He had a fit in his sleep then a massive heart attack. The funeral was today, nice service, lots of people I had never met before but remembered me from when I was 'so small!'

thankyou today has shown me how great my family are, and how I wish I lived closer to spend more time with them.

Ohhhh..... I'm sorry, hun. How is your Grandma doing? At least it's over now and you don't have to sit wondering, that feeling is even worse than losing someone. I know that all too well.....
