Okay so I have been having this ongoing debate with my favorite person Sixgun and hes saying that hes not a racist. Yet he is total prjudice against muslims and Islamic's (or whatever)...

I say hes racist, anyone who would take time out to slag down EVERY SINGLE person who is of that, or any other religion I feel is more than worthy to be labeled a racist.

And again I hope that one day people will show racists the same compassion and mercy they have shown others...

He's using terms, but it's the same lame thinking as all black people are this....all white people are....it's just a group to aim hate at, for stupid reasons. His ego has been fed alot by the election that people of Islam are evil cause people voted Bush two terms so now he feels just in saying any horrible thought about muslims.

i think the "difference" between the middle easterners and other races is this:
we are engaged in a conflict with them. and so many of them are hateful toward us, we've learned to profile and put up our guards.
i've learned by living around tons of them that immigrated here, that it's as easy to profile them as peaceful people. i don't think they're being racist. i think they're profiling like a cop does with a red or black sportscar. "more likely".. which, in the cop's case, is a factual assumption.
i can understand this assumption with arabic folk, but it's not factual.

So does that mean it gives people the right to slag down everyone who is part of that particular religion? I dislike the terrorists and not everyone who is part of the muslim/Islamic religion...

i've read synikul's defense about this. i'll just flat out say it. he's not racist. he plays the opposition often times, and i think he enjoys it, and so he just *fits* the role of the "badguy".
if you were to look at a huge picture stuffed with every american, i'd imagine that the word that came to your head would be "FAT".
if you look at the middle east as a whole, you see a lot of hate, toward us as well. now we both know that not all americans are fat. we both know that not all middle easterners are hateful. but when these characteristics are seen in a demographic, they stand out.
synikul is the guy that sees that hate and says "well i need to be ready for some hate if i meet up with these guys."
you're the one that sees the good in the people and says "we need to be compassionate towards these people though."
you're both right. and there's a nice little meeting point you could reach if your objectives became solutions rather than conflicts (which i suppose are fun). about sixgun, i don't know the guy. and from what i have seen, he likes pissing you off.

racism entails the color of someone skin....although within the same culture, sharing many of the similar ideoligies, judging someone within said group based on color of skin is racism

judging someone based on their ideologies, and/or their country of orgin is prejudicism...

saying "I hate niggers" makes me a racist....saying "I hate mexicans, muslims, etc." makes me a prejudicist......big difference.....

racism is more frowned upon than prejudicism.....almost everyone here is prejudice in some way or another.....saying you despise the Al-Queda makes you prejudice.......

I think that they hide everything with politics but it shows through because there are alot of shitty things going on and all they can do is bitch about the majority when, in reality its a minority. Its like me saying I hate all christians because they started wars in the past... I don't hate christians, I dislike christianity, in such a way that I don't practice the religion. I find it hard to accept people that hide behind religion and throw their insecurities onto other people.
