Actually, as soon as I got it, I made an offer to the other mods that if it was too controversial, I'd resign. I may do that having now proven that a racist like me is actually more tolerant and openminded than you or that little fuckwit Peter.

my problem isnt with you synikul, although i do find it funny a racist moding politics, however like someone else stated, so long as they don't error your judgement, why the hell not? mines is with the fact that there was already 4 mods for politics, what was the need for a fifth? specialy since there are only about ten active threads.

It was part of a reshuffle. Red Meat and Dyshade are super mods, and do things all over the board. I don't know why they are specificly listed there. They got rid of Zephirus because he never even looked at that forum. Iron's Rite and thefinalword got upgraded to the entire Serious Discussion forum. I'm the only one with just Politics.

There are an "Average" of 100 unique members who log onto Darkforum every single day. It is rare if you have 2-3 days within a months where there are less than 100 unique users sign on in a day. Within the Admin CP there is a Stat function where I can look at various stats. We have a fairly large portion of people who log on and do not post or post rarely. A good 25-45% or thereabouts soner or later become avid posters. probably within the first few months. There are a few who have been here for quite awhile and have not posted a single thing..

A major reason for giving each Forum a Unique Moderator or even two is so that if a User has a question or a problem they can approach someone they are familiar with as well as having someone who is avid about the subject keeping topics moving.
My main deciding factors for Modding someone are-intelligence, level-headedness, an avid interest in the topic at hand, and an interest in helping others. I also listen to the other Mods when they make suggestions about someone who might make a good Mod. I was VERY hesitant when it came to Modding Jobe and yet I set aside my personal opinion and made a decision based on suggestions and his improved ability to function healthily in social interactions.
I was also hesitant to make Synikul a Mod and knew that it would lead to contraversy. Yet I set aside personal views and looked at how he interacts within the Forum he was suggested for. He does not let his personal feelings cloud his debates and handles himself in a very mature manner.
I am not going to De-mod him because he believes in something disagreeable. If I did i would have to De-Mod all of the present Mods who were X-Tians because I find them disagreeable as well. Along with anyone else who I found disagreeable.

Bottom line is that we cannot make everyone happy. But we can try to mediate situations as they arise as best we can with the most unbiased stance we can achieve. You cannot ask nor expect more than that.

imho, i don't really care who a mod is, since, to me... mods should only exert some level of power over others when things go out of wack...ergo, the word Moderator. In this case, I don't think it's a matter of controversy, speculation, dispute, etc... a moderator strictly follows the definition....ehh...of course this has been done before, but whatever:

I agree that each section needs a mod that's interested in the subject and will keep it alive, but the fact is other boards manage perfectly with just a few. If someone doesn't keep their section going, doesn't deal with situations quickly, de-mod them, move someone else in.

I'm not complaining, I don't care about the situation enough, but I just think it's funny that with 40 or so regular non-mod posters, and nearly 20 mods, a third of DF regular posters are mods.
I've just never known anything like it, that's all.

Ahh, but you see.. if i were one of------ say 5 mods------- on DF, then i would be able to do almost anything with impunity..... But alas, we have many mods, just about enough atm i believe, to deal with things like the ones who petitioned about my post that begat this whole thread... Were i just one of 5, most likely the others would be wanting to protect me and tell whoever, what they could do with it...
as it stands... This subject(being the report of my post) was actually discussed before i even got back onto the site... Imagine my suprise had it not gone the way it did.... Logging back on to find that i had lost my modship... But i understoood that is Always a possability for any mod on this forum... it's kinda like having a jury decide your fate.. But instead of lawyers, there are posts printed to let them make up thier own minds...

The rules and regs should be enforced by mods, the forum kept alive, that's about it.

5 or 10 mods (unless idiots) should be able to come to a descision.


The fact is your post suggested an odd (at best) idea. It wasn't on the public forum and it wasn't illegal, so no, you shouldn't be banned. And you weren't, and nothing major happened.

If a mod would ban you over something that isn't against the rules, then they shouldn't be a mod.

I know of two other forums I frequent that have both been around for over 10 years.

It's undergone many changes and currently, is a shitty, corrupted and extremely conservative site. The other forum is actually more stable, but more like an online community of people who like to congregate in chatrooms, akin to an Online Family. Suffice to say, I don't go there, anymore. I have better things to do with my time.

Yeah, I wonder if an internet forum could keep up the pace for that long? Which is why Darkforum needs contraversy and fresh blood; to keep from becoming stagnant.
