This girl in my class invites me to her birthday party.
I'm excited before I realise that the main group of people going don't really know or like me. So I decide I'm not going to go.
Today is the day of the party, and my friend comes and asks me if I'm going. I explain why not and she said she was thinking the same. Also at this late notice I had no costume (fancy dress party).

Then in class the girl keeps making sure we're all going, even says she'll give us lifts there if we can't drive ourselves, so myself and my friend feel bad and decide to go. We arrange when she's going to pick me up and I go out and buy something to wear.

About 10 minutes ago I checked my phone and she'd left me a message saying she couldn't come because she was spending the evening with her boyfriend.

I've bought clothes, got my whole 'look' together (80s kinda themed) an am looking forward to going, and now it's just gone tits up.

Great. Great great great.
What's worse is I won't even get mad at her about it, I'll just accept it.
Fuck.

Thats why always go to uninvited parties.

Another lovely story about friends...

There's a girl I know vaguely, it's her birthday tomorrow, and she planned a party and invited her friends. She invited a whole bunch of people in her friendship group (she even invited me- who she barely knows- but I can't get there) to her birthday and was really looking forward to it.

Nearly everyone has bailed on her.

People can be so bullshit. I don't know if anyone's gonna go to her party- even her close circle of friends don't seem to be interested- and it's so cruel and nasty.

She's been saying for a fortnight that she knows no-one is going to turn up.
Makes me sad, but not much I can do. I'ma get her a present and a card and give it to her Monday, but that's hardly gonna make up for the fact that loads of people she considers friends just don't care about her.



This is why I didn't arrange anything for my birthday. I ended up having a surprise party because it turns out that some people do care enough to bother.

They were just a pair of jeans. So no, not really.

She has friends in high places ie. she has (and will utilise) the ability to make my life a misery, and it's really not worth it for the 2 and a bit months I will have to see her for until we leave.

The server on this forum sucks at time. I just spent twenty minutes typing about my experience with so called friends last night and when I post it, the server says it's busy and that I should come back later! I hit refresh and nada. All that typing frigging gone, great! Fuck this, I'm off to south London to see a man about a dog!

No, it should work, but after a while you get used to doing it as a precaution. The number of times I've wrote long essays on here to have them dissappear has taught me, and I mostly remember now.
