After 3 "permanent" hair dyes and calling over 30 places to find permanent purple hair dye I realise that it is impossible to get your hair dyed purple when you live in a small town.
I can get all the butterscotch candy I can eat, but no purple.

Anyone know of any companies that make purple that will actually stay in my hair?

i always bleached my hair a week or two before dying it purple, blue, scarlet, green, or any other bright colour.

yeah i bleached it this time around and it still came out all wrong. i found a place about 2 hours out that had permanent purple and blue so a friend and i went out and now have purple and blue hair.

is happy.

i don't think the color of my hair signifies how 'grown up' i am. if it does, then i think taking summer classes while working 2 jobs to pay for school out of my own pocket kind of balances it out.

sadly, around here, if you DON'T dye your hair, have small of the back or any other tattoos, piercings, and wear "alternative" clothes, you're more individual.

Hey, now, kids. I have coloured hair and am grown up, thank you very much. Colouring your hair doesn't have to be about going against the norm, either. I dye my hair for two reasons. First, cuz its pretty. Second, to remind me that life isn't the cut and dry, black and white image everyone else seems to think it is.

Onto the actual topic - I use Special Effects hair dye. If you google it you'll find numerous places that sell it online, if you can't find it locally. I've been using the brand for years and have only been dissapointed once. So give it a go. (Keep the dye in for more than 15 mintues, though. I usually do around an hour.)

Thanks, i checked it out and I really like some of the colors (Purple smoke and wild flower). When this color starts to fade I think this will be the stuff I use next.
