I require rhyme, meter, AND/OR rhythm.....it has to have at least one of those elements, not all three....

...I don't believe that there's much that is truly avant garde or cutting edge...everyone has done something at least somewhat similar or related before...

all music is made out of rhythmic sound, it's how you oraganize it and paint it that counts......

all paintings are painted....

each artform gives you set of walls and restrictions and it's how you work around them that counts.......you can't just avoid them all together though

I don't think poetry is fixed, but it does need SOME sort of organization and artistic flow...

I don't how much you know about the music I listen to - but besides from Nine Inch Nails and a few other commercially others......most of the music I listen to I don't considered "fixed" and is avant garde in some way.....

Dude, I know what "avant garde" means. So yes, how did I call myself cutting edge by saying what isn't creative? And how did I shoot myself in the foot? MAKE SENSE.

And yes, requiring even one of anything is restricting yourself. I don't feel like doing that. And yes, all paintings are painted, all songs are played, and all writing is written..... what's your point?

I still wonder why so many people seem to have a problem with other peoples pride and/or vanity... is it because they have none themselves? To me those traits are attributes, not weakness.

Pride and vanity get annoying, especially when they come from someone who shouldn't have any. I think it's fine to be proud of things, and even talk about it from time to time, but some people just get annoying when they go around frontin all the time, especially when you know you could put em down no prob, but in favor of being the bigger person, you don't. And after that, the bigger their ego gets, the worse the urge to put em down gets. Why do people have a problem with other peeps pride and vanity? Because then they have to hold back something called reality, which is like a really big secret that's hard to keep.

Then of course you got the other side, people that are so pathetic and self hating that they can't stand for anyone else to have some self respect. I say fuck both groups, as long as you've got the stack to stand up to anyone who tries to put YOU down, you're fine.
