| In the event of november the 5th, spoil their fun. -
08-07-05
Seen as it is near to november the 5th again this year, I just want to point out that us brits are actually having a good time at a fire that is basically celebrating the brutal death of guy fawkes. May I remind you that the governemnt has fucked up the UK since then and yet you all still go to a fire where people ritualisticly burn a stuffed guy symbolizing the death of a person!
Boycot it! The governement like it because nove 5th is a day remembering the start of our country fucking up.
Do our country a favour, carry fire extinguishers, put out every bonfire you see on nov 5th.
When the kids come to the door climing 'penny for the guy' tell them that they are cruel and evil children, going to hell for making ritual out of some elses unfortunate death.
By stores out of their fireworks and then set them off a week after bonfire night, celebrating the boycot of Guybo Fawkes night.
That is all.... Thank you. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

You may mock... But this is serious!
Mr. Fawkes has been dead for many many years and all the hatred is gone for him, yet people still display this barbaric ritual. WHen all they can do any other day is complain about how they hate the government!

How would you like it if someone told your children they were evil little shits and were going to hell one day? The dead have been covered in lime. The dead know only one thing; it is better to be alive.

I ran a quick search and came up with this. n 1605, Guy Fawkes and a group of conspirators attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Before they were able to carry out their plan they were caught, tortured and executed. Every year since then we have traditionally celebrated his failure by letting off fireworks and burning an effigy of 'Guy'. This site has been developed to provide a general overview of Bonfire Night - the history behind it, how it's celebrated today and, of course, the Firework Safety Code. We have also developed a directory of links to Guy Fawkes related events and other relevant websites. Why did he try to blow up parlament? and please give me the middle of the road answer not the extream leftist I want to be an anarchist answer. The dead have been covered in lime. The dead know only one thing; it is better to be alive.

He was a Royalist... And a catholic....
The puritans took over and left the royal family powerless, they made a democracy, governemential based. Mr. Fawkes supported the royals and decided to blow the houses of parliment up... Terrorist style....
He would ahve gotten away with it too if one of his fellow crime partners refrained from writing a letter to a member of parliment that was his good friend, warning him of what was going to happen....
SUcks....
I think thats what it was.... I haven't been to history class since 1997. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I dont think we tried to blow up the king or any of thier political bodies in order to create anarchy. The dead have been covered in lime. The dead know only one thing; it is better to be alive.

Sorry, he wasn't a royalist, I was getting the cromwell thing muddled up like I always do... He was trying to uprise english catholics:
conspiracy to blow up the English Parliament and King James I on Nov. 5, 1605, the day set for the king to open Parliament. It was intended to be the beginning of a great uprising of English Catholics, who were distressed by the increased severity of penal laws against the practice of their religion. The conspirators, who began plotting early in 1604, expanded their number to a point where secrecy was impossible. They included Robert Catesby, John Wright, and Thomas Winter, the originators, Christopher Wright, Robert Winter, Robert Keyes, Guy Fawkes, a soldier who had been serving in Flanders, Thomas Percy, John Grant, Sir Everard Digby, Francis Tresham, Ambrose Rookwood, and Thomas Bates. Percy hired a cellar under the House of Lords, in which 36 barrels of gunpowder, overlaid with iron bars and firewood, were secretly stored. The conspiracy was brought to light through a mysterious letter received by Lord Monteagle, a brother-in-law of Tresham, on Oct. 26, urging him not to attend Parliament on the opening day. The 1st earl of Salisbury and others, to whom the plot was made known, took steps leading to the discovery of the materials and the arrest of Fawkes as he entered the cellar. Other conspirators, overtaken in flight or seized afterward, were killed outright, imprisoned, or executed. Among those executed was Henry Garnett, the superior of the English Jesuits, who had known of the conspiracy. While the plot was the work of a small number of men, it provoked hostility against all English Catholics and led to an increase in the harshness of laws against them. Guy Fawkes Day, Nov. 5, is still celebrated in England with fireworks and bonfires, on which effigies of the conspirator are burned.
FUcking always muddle that shit up with cromwell... To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I am kind of glad he failed then. The Catholics at that point in time needed to lose what power they still had so they could get back to religion instead of trying to rule Europe. The dead have been covered in lime. The dead know only one thing; it is better to be alive.

Cromwell had the king beheaded I think... Or he went to war against the royalists, he won and then he died. then his corpse was beheaded and stuck on a pole as an example...
Holy fuck... I really can't remember accurately.... Hang on, I will find a link.... I need to sort my history shit out. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
