Moderators are like gods, not in their power, but by the comparison that, without posters they're nothing, and before they became god, they were just a poster...i think they realize that...i don't blame them for the board either...they do what they can.

but without a board, there are no posters, and there are a few posters here who don't stop to consider that, they think they make the board...and don't care what anybody else wants in a board, blaming everyone and everything else for the fact; that except for the core users, most people do not come to a board to be subjected to abuse for discussing personal opinions...people come here, that are looking for discussion get insulted, rather than offered any intelligent challenges to their, opinion.

but we've circled over that, extensively...

who wants to stay at a board that results in them having to consistantly defend their desire to share thoughts against, pointless bullying...even in boards that were designed for discussion rather than, slapstick comedy...i thought that's what offtopic was for?

this is what i don't want on my behalf. when i go to darkforum. which is why i like darkforum the way that it is now and i have no complaints about it. because once when this board gets nasty.. i do not want to be here anymore. i stay within the shadows of it....until all of it's nastiness has cooled it's self down.. that is when i start to come out of it's shadows... and i start to show myself a little more... when i feel that it's safe to come out...

perhaps we should do away with moderation to a certain degree?

still have password on the nudie of course, and have mods but all they do is move shit if people post in the wrong place, and help out should someone post a humungous photo or suchlike. if people wanna whine and bitch at eachother let them be, i'm sure they'll come to a conclusion. and most people stick to the correct boards to do that anyhow. havent seen anyone having a cow at eachother in here for a long long time. people will continue to post "hi i'm new here" threads, but yeah those can be closed and people directed into the right hole. if people want to spam, don't ban and delete it, just let people laugh at them, its entertainment. hell, the spammer might bring some buddies. there is a human behind the spammer after all, and then let the thread die off into the cache, and after say... a month, be deleted (ie go through month old threads to delete shit. (save serverspace)

i dunno, just relax it all. i mean, there's not exactly much going on for people to mod anywho, so yeah obviously jobe still do the photo section, that needs a helping hand, and yeah,well just turn mods into "helpers" rather than "moderators" hell, with garg's dancing santa hat, "santa's little helpers" would be fitting.

those are fair and rational suggestions, presented in a way that people want to read and think about...

that's why we created a bitch board and offtopic has been relatively free of any restrictions, my complaint is that behavior has been taken down into serious discussions, that's why there's no exciting conversation going on, resulting in some off the more, thinker types leaving for other boards, they can express thoughts in, and receive thoughts back.

What's the point of the same four or five people argueing over the same handful of topics, as soon as anyone dares offer a different opinion it's bashing time; why would anyone new try to participate?

that's the problem with the board...we're all guilty, but some don't understand everything in moderation.(opposite of excess, nothing to do with moderators, themselves)

Yes, some people do find that level of convesation enjoyable, but why must that behavior be the law of the land?

if the moderators try to enforce it, they're called foul...and then the same posters raise the same whines...and it all begins again.

so what is the point of a handful of people banging their heads trying tell people how to change the board, to make it more exciting...but all they do is tear it down, and any other people that dare come in and try to offer serious discussion, that does not deal with some crass refrence to devient sex acts or malicious, personal insult.

a few strong moderators or several avid moderators are good, i'm not argueing for more moderation, just some limitation on behvior that a majority of posters, find objective?

keep in the appropriate boards, and if people go in there and post...it's their fault, but if they post an issue they would seriously like to discuss, why must they be subjected to behavior, they were not looking for?

if people want less moderation, let them show it's not needed.

that's why other forums are gaining those members, who used to post here.

Look at the people who consistently post in the serious discussion forum. I think the only one that is put off by any of the more heated discussions is yourself. The rest of us don't mind a little passion in our arguments, and feel capable of defending ourselves. There is only about a half dozen of us that post there regularly anyway.
