Not really, suffice to say I am in deep shit with several people I really do not want to be on bad terms with. And it's my own stupid, mindless, can't-shut-her-trap fault.

I'm not looking for commiserations in any respect. I was unspeakably rude to two people I should have more damn respect for, and now I have to apologise- there is no other option- and become invisible for the nest few months.

Years ago someone who'd done something to me came up with an apolgy when I was least expecting it.
It really knocks the wind out of the argument.
There's not many people that won't accept a real apology, and it proves how balanced you can be by issuing it.

On the one hand, you know you fucked up, and to some extent, you know you deserved whatever bullshit they're gonna hand to you, which is probably why you seem to want to just curl up in a lil ball and bawl your fuckin' eyes out. If it was unjustified, I bet you'd be on the offensive instead of the defensive.

So yeah, you're going to lay low. Humility's a good thing, to an extent. And to be trite and annoying, hey, maybe you learned some shit from this, such as: "Don't be rude to people you respect and who will destroy you for it. Only be rude to stupid weak jackasses that you don't give a shit about." Or something.
