I hate how everyone has to be oh so nice in politics and put up a nice front for everything.
For example, it is hard to get by when facing the opposition. My political view towards the township acts in Salt Lake City was dreary. It seemed like whenever they would annex land from another town or city they only took the businesses and tax base. Then the residence living in the county had that much more to worry about and their taxes were excessive though they never got more bennifet out of it.
It was just before another election for represtation in my area and it looked like they were getting ready to annex some more tax base from us. As luck would have it, I ran into this guy who was son to one of these pro township act people. He said his family loved the idea and it was for the over-all good of the county.
What am I supposed to say to this? Well who knows. Being on opposing political sides I think we dropped it.
Why on earth do they think this is a good idea? Some kind-of bizzare mormon golden honey comb, beehive freaking united in the jewel of utah. I supposed one day it will all be Salt Lake City all the way from Bountifull to Draper. All the Bees in the Beehive State sharing in some kind-of grandure of living in possibly the largest megalopolis in the nation.
All that happy goodie-goodie crap really gets on my nerves. Somehow reworking funds in smaller units to get to some kind-of big achievement. Isn't it bad enough they hosted the Olympics.
What's next they change the name through a loop-hole were the main annexing city wins? I suppose I'll be living in Holiday, capitol of happy yahoo land.
