I suppose it comes from the fact that I don't feel awkward about things. I can talk about horrible things and not stumble too badly. A woman on a forum a while back posted that her husband had cancer and was deathly ill, and I suppose as that's my world her fears for his health and death were not new to me, while other's visibly backed off.

I think as well it's the level of the effect.
One of the most distraught humans I have ever seen was an old man who's budgie died. After that he gave up and died himself, whereas others can cope with the loss of a close one quite well.

My mother in law picked herself up really well after her husband died. She went loopy for a few months and needed loads of support, but now the woman who had never been abroad has been to China and Australia and a load of places inbetween. She saw she had to live life, and although she still sheds the odd tear, she could have easily given up and died herself.

It may be that some kid is moaning about nothing, but to them it is a huge deal, and if it's too annoying, I just don't respond.

I just ignore the kids, but it's the adults who have actually brought a whole lot of their problems on themselves who suck.

[rant]Work. I'm looking for a new job because I work with a bunch of cantankerous old fucking moaners. The fucking pricks just about stretched my patience today and made me raise my voice. If I wasn't in a work enviroment I think I would have knocked the fucker out and spat on him! I know that sounds a bit course and a tad aggressive, but the situation was totally disrespectful, to me, anyway. That said, It's time I packed up my shit from my employers and venture elsewhere. It's a shame really, the firm I work for are great and the pays well, but I work with wankers, tossers that have reached their station in life and in the cold light of day, all they will ever be is glorified porters. I've been there three years and 5 months, I know the job, I know it well and I can do it better than them! Granted, they have been there longer than me and have more experience, but they are old and will soon be put out to pasture.

So, I'm stuck at my current job until I find another, and I intend to start looking now, from today! It would be foolish just to walk, without another job waiting.[/rant]
