I've noticed the same thing, the only women who will associate with me as a friend are married. Although there was at least one case where it seemed like she really had a serious, romantic interest in me.

I hate people who blame all their problems on a difficult life. Yeah, it may have affected you adversely, but you would've fucked up by yourself.

Being the owner of an interesting childhood myself I can see the connections.
My husband says it probably why I like The Golden Girls so much and am very safety conscious. Children's minds are so easy to influence.
