| What is your stance on the 2nd amendment? -
02-22-08
I just read an article on Obama's stance against it. Pajamas Media: Obama Shooting Himself in the Foot with Anti-Gun Stance
And it made me wonder, what each candidate claims as their stance. It hasn't been as big an issue this election as in the past. But with the lawsuite agains SF and DC to lift their bans, I have to wonder. I did a bit of digging and found this site. GOA -- 2008 Presidential Candidates and the Second Amendment
So after reading each candidates stance, what do you folk think? Pain is Nature's way of saying "At least your still alive!"

I think that anyone who is for gun-control does not understand the intrinsic reality of the world at large.
Guns are here to stay and will not just disappear because you make a couple of cute laws to keep them out of private citizens hands.
Look to England as to how absolute gun bans work.
Here in Utah, where just about anyone can own a gun and getting a Concealed is cake we have the same per capita homocide rate as Englands per capita To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I only think owning guns may add to the violence in this country, but laws will not make people stop owning or purchasing them. As I eat our baby I'm thinking of you

As the population grows so shall violence. Though one could argue that the violence has not really grown as it will probably still be of the same proportion of the population that uses violence to work out their problems.
Remember a car can be even deadlier than any gun and yet we do not have any laws banning cars because someone can mow down an entire crowd with it To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Personally I don't like guns. I like morons that don't know how to use guns or abuse them even less.
That said, when it comes to a lot of laws pertaining to firearms in the US, there are a lot of stupid ones out there (but than again, a lot of laws don't make a lot of sense). I don't know enough about firearms to know the exact differences, but I doubt automatic and semi-automatic guns were invented when the american constitution was written.
I vaguely remember something about the Brittish outlawing guns owned by colonists as being the reason for why there is this "Right to bear arms". Not sure if this was the only reason though. But a lot has changed since then and not every invention should be handled alike.
I can understand why people would want a gun or rifle (thinking about hunters and old ladies that want to feel safer particularly), but when it comes to machine guns etc. I go wtf? Anybody care to enlighten me why people would need something that can rapidly shoot a number of bullets in a short amount of time?

Luckily, most of the guns around my area aren't registered anyway. Most people around here sell guns like crazy at flea markets. So if those bastards ever do try to disarm the American public, many pissed off rednecks will still be packing. One of the main reasons they want to get rid of the guns, is because it will be easier to control us when we can't fight back. When the day comes that men show up at my door wanting my fire arms, I will splatter their brains in the name of America and die a patriot. Anybody care to enlighten me why people would need something that can rapidly shoot a number of bullets in a short amount of time? | Allowing citizens the right to bear arms protects said citizens from a criminal government. Our forefathers learned from the british that an unarmed populace is at the will of a harsh and cruel governance. They also saw that having an armed populace made it harder for the British to take us back over.
Machine guns are actually quite fun to shoot although very expensive. Once again, a car can easily kill just as many or more people(do not have to reload the car) as a machine gun and I do not see us banning the use of cars.
Anyone attempting to invade the United States would find themselves up against a well armed, well trained civilian populace and more than likely get their asses handed to them.
Also any criminal invading my home will find himself up against a 1911 .45 caliber defense system
If you disarm the populace you invite crime by telling th ecriminals that legal citizens are undefended against mugging, rape, home invasion, and whatever other criminal activity they feel like pursuing where-in you may be the victim To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I like the fact that I can fire a gun accurately and in order to maintain that skill I must USE IT!!! Which means I have to go out shooting in the woods or at a legal range in order to keep myself accurate. If you buy a gun and never shoot it you will be more of a danger to yourself and your family if you ever attempt to use it against a criminal.
It is a defense mechanism designed to preserve the life of your family and innocents. If it is needed and you can save lives by shooting a madman I am sure everyone here would hail that person a hero!!
Do you know that a while back a guy defended himself against a killer by shooting the guy and the pussy lawyer for the dead guys family tried to suggest that the defendant was dangerous because he carried an extra clip for his gun!!!!!
That is a ludicrous mindset. An absolutely insane viewpoint. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. S.O.D. That is a ludicrous mindset. An absolutely insane viewpoint. | But sounds more like a blame the gun mentality and not blame the attacker. Where do you normally practice? Pain is Nature's way of saying "At least your still alive!"

Up at Holliday or at Get Some Guns & Ammo
Get Some has the same lanes they use for FBI training.... they are very nice
It is more of a you have a weapon therefore you must be dangerous mentality which runs toward knives, mace, and batons as well.
Irregardless of any laws I should have the right to defend myself from someone who means harm to either myself or anyone around me.
It is action which prevents criminals from performing their acts not consequences. Consequences do help but it is better for the murdered to never have been murdered.
You cannot bring someone back to life and you cannot stop a gun wielding suicidal maniac with hugs and kisses or compliance. I agree.
I don't like handguns, but that's because of my choice based of something from my passed. But the distinctive sound of a saw'd off Mossberg has been a deterent to a burgler once before as well.
But I just found this article I think you'll find interesting: Montanans insist on gun rights*-*-*The Washington Times, America's Newspaper Pain is Nature's way of saying "At least your still alive!"

They will not have the room in their jails for all of the people they would have to arrest. All of the armed people To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms. . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." -Thomas Jefferson
"What, sir, is the use of militia? It is to prevent the establishment of a standing army, the bane of liberty. . . Whenever Government means to invade the rights and liberties of the people, they always attempt to destroy the militia, in order to raise a standing army upon its ruins."

i love my glorious state!
it'd be a brutal, bloody bath that would make ruby ridge look like a day care tussle, for some people here guns are their livelihood, keeping meat on the table for families.
it seems we have more rape than gun deaths around here, maybe they should outlaw penisis? To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
