One does not need to have served in the Military to be critical of it Nor does one need to reserve thier opinion due to lack of military service. That is just asanine.

Oh, I get it. Got it a long time ago. What I don't get is how you come to the rationalization that veteran, such as myself, "hates America" simply because we disagree with the way our government is conducting itself, and that we "hate the military" because we believe this country is wrongly involved in Iraq.

(Please note that in all my discourse here, it's our involvement in Iraq I have a problem with, not Afghanistan.)

I'm not so sure. As I mentioned before, I'm of the opinion that it's plain old good detective work both here and abroad that has prevented further attacks. The one thing 9/11 did is remove lot of the barriers between agencies in this country, and improved communication and the sharing of intellegence between the U.S. and the rest of the world with regard to terrorists. The theory that "fighting them over there" is cutting down on attacks here rings pretty hollow to me.
