They should step down. They have been proven wrong and hypocritical far too many times. It is also highly unlikely and illogical to believe that Sharpton and Jackson have been accepted as spokesmen for all African Americans.

The main reason why they seem to be the spokespersons of all african americans is because of the lack of any sane leaders who have risen up and gotten the same amount of media attention.

They are the loudest, most buzz generating "leaders" and that is why they get the most media time. They ultimately do the MOST damage to race relations and to the advancement of tolerance and equality. Sane and rational people never get media time.
