So I was watching this thing on and off for a while, trying to get a feel for who the GOP had in the field, when this question gets asked by the moderator:
"How many of you do not believe in evolution?"
Three of the ten men up there, vying for a position as the leader of the most powerful nation in the world, raised their hands without hesitation.
Does this sort of ignorance bother anyone else, because it scares the fuck out of me. Exactly when did the wheels of intellectual progress start backsliding in this country? Shadowborn To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

DO you believe in evolution is an incredibly loaded question to ask a republican candidate running in a fucking PRIMARY of all things.
Thats like asking a democrat panel How many of you believe in socialism?
Hillary and B. Hussien Obama of course would raise their hands in a flash, but any democrat with half a brain would be like uhhhh..... hmmmm even if they DID believe in it.
And lets not forget that the loaded question asked was not well defined. To many people Evolution is an engine to disprove the existence of God or what the hell ever. It isn't ignorance, it was political savvy that made them not raise their hands. There was a large number of Christian Republicans who stayed on in the last election and it lost the R's the house and senate. They don't want to piss them off further.
I personally think Fred Thompson (who didn't go to the debate) is the smarter of the potential candidates because its too too early right now to try and do anything. So all you can do right now as a candidate is hurt yourself by screwing up, you cant really score any points.
By the way I am behind Fred Thompson personally, he is the right choice. I like Rudy's experience as helping NY out and everything but hes a RINO.
Other questions asked of the Candidates:
Would Bill Clinton back in the WH be a good thing?
What do you dislike about America?
You can tell it was a fucking retarded cocksucker like Chris Matthews asking the questions because only he would come up with such absurd liberal bullshit questions to ask a group of Republicans. Fucking MSNBC... ah well at least the Reps have the fucking balls to go on a liberal shit station like PMSNBC, unlike the pansy Dems who are afraid of fucking Brit Hume.

I would never vote for a creationist just on general principle. It demonstrates a willingness to ignore facts for what you want to believe, which isn't desirable in a commander in chief.
That being said, I could easily vote for someone who believed in intelligent design. Being ambiguous or undecided on what things mean isn't the same as completely rejecting the evidence at hand altogether.
It's a bit of a loaded question, but I don't want to vote for a candidate who refuses to deal with something honestly for fear of alienating people, either. I'm definitely not voting for Romney either, after he completely ducked answering what he disliked most about America (which is a perfectly fair question. If you want to be President, you must think something is wrong with the country that needs fixing). If you're not going to tell me what it is, why the fuck do I want you in office?
What's a "Rino", Billy? When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more.

What's a "Rino", Billy? | A Republican in name only.
And that was an unfair question, "what do you dislike about America" it shows the asshole douchebaggery of MAtthews. I would have been offended to have been asked that question. If you want someone who hates America elect a democrat, if you want to elect someone who is going to treat the USA like it is ( a superpower with self interests) dont elect anyone who would answer that question seriously.

Billy, you do almost nothing but bitch about what you hate about America. You're saying that you'd honestly be uncomfortable answering with "Liberals", "Shitty educational system", or whatever your latest particular rag is? Like, the vehemently anti-abortion candidate can't even say, "The fact that it kills millions of babies each year"? When people talk of the freedom of writing, speaking or thinking I cannot choose but laugh. No such thing ever existed. No such thing now exists; but I hope it will exist. But it must be hundreds of years after you and I shall write and speak no more.

Those are liberal things. I hate Abortion and hate the education system, but that don't mean I hate America. My brother Rick is gay, I REEEEALLLLLY hate the fact that he is gay, but there has NEVER been an instant in my life where I can say that has made me even dislike r hate him remotely. I just think fate dealt him a shitty hand on that one.

I think that you should take a moment and consider very carefully how your opinion of these being Embarrassing Questions might have been different if this had been a Democratic Presidential Candidate Debate. de vagorum ordine dico vobis iura

They passed up a debate hosted by Fox because they were afraid to answer any tough questions.

That's my one issue, and the only men on that stage who will get my vote in the primary or the general election are Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter. I like Hunter better, he's also against free trade.
Being a realist, that probably means I'll be throwing my vote to a third party loser, or leaving the president choice blank in the general election. Quote: |

Thats like asking a democrat panel How many of you believe in socialism? | I'll admit it was a stupid question, but answering it is even dumber. Why even play the game? If one of those potentials had just said "No, I'm not playing that game," or something to that effect, I would have felt relief.
As for those who raised their hands, it tells me one of two things:
1) They're Creationists, which is ignorant, or...
2) They're lying because they think it will win them votes.
Either case is a no-win.
I'm not even sure why the media is so hot to stir up the election talk anyway. Aren't there any other issues that need coverage for the next six months or so? Shadowborn To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Aren't there any other issues that need coverage for the next six months or so? | You cant be a creationist and believe evolution has a place within it? That sounds pretty ignorant to me. Which is what most of these people are, of course that wasn't the question though was it? Ever watch Chris Matthews' hardball? The cocksucker asks questions like that all the time and as soon as he gets a "ye..." he shoots into, oh so you don't believe in creation huh?" thats his style and they are not going to give his retarded question any more importance than it simply being asked and then ignored. They did the right thing.

Like everything else in this country, people are either polarized to one side or the other, with no middle ground. I don't see a problem with it, but all the people I've seen label themselves as Creationists are the ones that believe in a literal, word for word reading of the Bible. Quote: |

Well, maybe all but the three dumbasses that shot their hands in the air like schoolchildren answering a teacher's question. | You didnt find Obamas rendition of what he would do if we were hit with a nuke a little more terrifying?
Oh yes, lets make sure we dont have another Katrina like mishap, and then lets get international support, then we can hold some prayer vigils and all sing kumbayah. You want something to "worry" about then youre worrying about the wrong party. The antifreedom, socialist america hating communists are in the democrat party.
