I don't have anything written yet, but I flipped past the news stations...FOX had it, then MSNBC and CNN had it a second after (they happened to be on commericial)...apparrently his Saudi captors beheaded him.

Yet another person who never should have died.

Checked the websites...everyone's still working to confirm the story...it was reported to Reuters via Al Arabiya news or something like that...

Saudi Al Qaeda Leader Killed in Riyadh

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — The leader of Al Qaeda (search) in Saudi Arabia (search) was believed killed in a raid in the capital Friday, hours after his group claimed the beheading of an American engineer, Saudi security officials said.

A U.S. official confirmed that Abdulaziz al-Moqrin (search) has been killed. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the information.

I thought that was Bin Laden. What, did he suddenly stop being their leader because we couldn't find him and someone else nobody really knows about instantly became their leader?

So can we say Cheney's the President just because Bush is off at a ranch eating some burgers(Mmmm burgers)?

Aside from that the current US foreign policies aren't exactly generating sympathy among predominantly muslim countries. Beheadings may be barbaric and the perpetrators should be brought to justice... But there's also the matter of international law and a certain nation's tendency to disregard it whenever convenient.
