Chaos fascinates me. The higher gas prices go, the happier I become. Turmoil is inevitable; our economy is a wave, and it's on it's way back to an 80's like depression. You know why you're getting $300 this year? Economic stimulation. But you don't have to work for the US treasury to see that. Offshore drilling in the gulf is expected to become completely utilized. What do you think about offshore drilling in the gulf of mexico? Yes, I am fully aware there is a ban on drilling here, and support the ban.

offshore drilling is a good idea. They should have started 10 years ago. The ban is absurd and should be repealed immediately. Luckily liberals in the senate etc have no spine so i doubt they will turn out in full force to stand against this since it would make it look like they like high gas prices. Which of course they do.

I live in clearwater, granted it's nice to go to the beach without swimming through dead fish and oil, but I understand why 3/5 floridians are against the ban. Either way like you said, it'll probably 10 years before we get a drop of oil from the gulf.

We need to focus on alternative energy. They started 30 years ago, and the oil companies crushed it spouting that where we are at now would never happen..

untrue, alternative energy never catches on because it takes more energy in the form of oil based energy to generate alternative energy. Leaving us with a net negative.

Funny that no one else has an opinion about offshore drilling or alternative energy... I thought this was a hot topic.

Write it, and make sure to use the most basic comparison for it: Funding Alternative energy is like buying 100 dollars worth of weed and then reselling it for 80 dollars! Wooo yeah profit is inevitable!

Y'know, if they discovered an abandunt source of oil in the skulls of human infants. I'd be all about making a few baby factories.

A couple of points to consider from my point of view living among oil rigs in Wyoming.

2. The democrats believe we need to force everyone away from oil dependance and onto alternative energy but refuse to allow increasing the use of nuclear, block hydro or geothermal, and won't allow alot of windmill farms because of environmental impact.

3. Oil speculators (those that make a profit off the buying and selling of oil) have an immense impact on the price. It would greatly limit their control if we start drilling here and now.

4. If ANWR was the size of a football field, the area they want to drill on would be the size of a postage stamp.

5. We have the technology to do this with less enviromental impact then natural oil seepage.

Agreed, its better to kill off minority babies 1st since they have inferior IQ's and will most likely become criminals eventually anyway. Save the white babies for the end, we don't want to kill the next Bill Gates or George Washington.
