Apparently Kimmie from NK wants to set off a nuke. Given their past record of weapons testing, it is a bit worrying about what could go wrong during that test.

Their last missile test failed and flew over Japan and crashed into the ocean. Since it was just a missile and it luckily missed land a big war was averted.

Now if this guy tests a Nuke and something goes wrong then chances are that they are going to end up nuking themselves, China, Japan, South Korea etc.

Isn't that a comforting thought?

If you want a regieme change then you need to stay there with ground troops to keep the peace until the people can form a new government. Period. Thats a war. Without it there is no victory, with no victory there is no peace.

why cant south korea (very strong country with strong armed forces) take the country, they want it anyways.

South Korea is full of "lets talk" pussies same as the USA. They dont have the balls to invade north korea and turn it into a worthwhile country. Especially since it would draw us in with them, and also not to mention that NK has millions of guns and bombs aimed at Sk already. The democrat strategy of appeasement and cut/run politics have made NK not able to attack outside of asia too well, but a suicide wish to invade unless you really have the balls to grit your teeth and take the losses.

China is also an ally of North Korea. Does any one know if they have ever said that they would move in to defend North Korea in case of any offensive?

I doubt they would. From what I have read China merely tolerated NK in the 50s because it kept them safe in thier soviet bloc from the anti-communists...but now NK is becoming a bit of a liability and China is kinda getting annoyed by them.

When I was there last summer I had asked around about politics stuff and I came away with really wierd answers.

For example. while the Chinese government seems like they dont like the USA, they actually regard us in a bit higher regard than we let on that they do. The thing about them is that they are obsessed with "saving face" which is a big part of thier culture. They dont want us to look at them like they are a developing country (which they are).

And I couldnt find a SINGLE Chinese person who liked communism or communists. In fact I didnt meet a single person who liked the Chinese government. The actual citizens in China are really quite capitalist which makes sense if you know anything about thier culture/history. The people themselves really like America and Americans. The one single Chinese person I ever met who was pro communist and pro communism and all that was a guy who doesnt live in China, he lives in the USA. Which i always thought was funny. He loves communism so much but he lives in the US. Heh.

This is the real reason the Vietnam War was such a stupid thing. Look who's on the northern border of Vietnam. In the Korean War we went all the way to China, then they pushed us back until we all called a truce. In Vietnam we were going for the Korea outcome from the beginning, and it didn't work.

I was really glad when the news that NK had tested nuclear bombs met me! It maybe be hard for you as the fact that most of you here are American citiszens. But as an European I can see more subjectiv on USAs role as a world-police.
